Vincent unlatched from my blood-soaked arm and leveled me with his lustful red orbs.
“Remember what I said before?”
“W–what?”
As we spoke, his face began stitching back together, the redness dissipating. He was regenerating right before my eyes.
“That night you tried to run away when we were in the backseat of my car at the gas station, I told you I’d own every drop of you.” His voice was full of brimstone, causing me to shiver inside the cage his body created. He then dropped his mouth to my throat, his tongue painting a slow, wet lick over my jugular. “Every last drop ismine.”
The points of his fangs pushed into the patch of skin below my ear, and a moan strangled in my throat. Not because he was feeding from a far more intimate place than my arm but because he was hard as steel and dangerously close to penetrating me.
He moved his hips, so his cock glided over my slit.
Lavinia slowly backed out of the room. “I… I’m going to go get the other princes.”
“Vin. Please don’t. Don’t fuck me. Not without a condom. I promised Sterling.Youpromised.”
My head swam, and my vision blurred. I felt so weary, without any strength left to even hold my head up. Sensing my lack of energy, Vincent’s hand curved around the back of my neck and eased my head into his pillow.
“Sleep,” he commanded against my throat. “I’ll take good care of you, Princess. Your darkest Knight always will.”
My eyes drifted shut, and total darkness carried me away.
Chapter thirty-five
King's Blood
Iwasrousedtoconsciousness with the sensation of a familiar mouth, pressing feather-light kisses over my eyelids. I sighed, melting into the worship of my mate’s mouth.
“Mmm. Corry…” I jerked away. “Corry!”
I bolted up so fast, I almost smacked my youngblood in the face. “Whoa, easy there, Red.” The youngblood clamped his hands over my shoulders and gently pushed me back into Vincent’s bed. “You’ve lost a lot of blood. So just take it easy. You don’t have to get up just yet.”
I looked around, taking in my surroundings. Corry lay in bed beside me, spooning me. Sterling sat in a chair beside the door with a book in his lap that he wasn’t paying attention to. His ghostly eyes were centered in my general direction.
Vincent was on my other side, with his back turned to me, sound asleep.
“He didn’t…” Sterling’s velvet-soft voice cut through my thoughts. “If you were wondering.”
My hand slipped beneath the bed covers, finding my apex. I slipped a finger inside. I was wet, but not post-Vincent wet. I swallowed. “Did you stop him?”
Sterling raked his fingers through his snow-pale hair. “I didn’t have to. He stopped himself. Surprising, considering his state.”
My attention trailed back to Vincent, my heart thrumming with fullness. “I’m not surprised.”
“Me neither,” Corry snorted. “If he had, Sterling would have ripped his dick off. Then again, to be fair, it was already mostly melted off. Tell your man the next time he goes frolicking in the sunlight to at least wear pants.”
“It seems clothing is beyond these two these days,” Sterling said with a reserved smile, trying to add in his own joke to lift the room’s heavy atmosphere. “It seems every time you two are together, you can’t keep your clothes on.”
I blushed. “You don’t know that. You can’t see.”
Sterling’s tongue made a sensual slide over his lower lip, and I tracked it like a hungry hawk. “I can smell it, Miss Baxter. You two together carry the stench of sex and misfortune.”
Laughing, I eased back into the bed. Even after all that had happened and all that was going to happen, I was at peace again. Home. And I realized being home had nothing to do with the Knight Manor.
I beamed at my mates, then my smile fell when I finally noticed. “Wait. Where’s Eros?”
The tension thickened. I threw a glance back at Corry, twisting in his arms to pin him with a look that had his Adam’s apple bobbing with a gulp.
