I’d have to be on guard tonight with her looking the way she did. Not that I suspected any of the Tacoma pack would be hanging around a club like this, but simply because human men would be hanging around her like flies, and I’m a jealous fuck.

We parked the car and walked over to Club Glow. The place looked like a typical dance club, with a long line outside filled with young people.

The entire block was practically shaking with the pulsing music coming from inside, pounding so loud I could feel it rattling my ribcage.

I detested places like this. Places where a cacophony of noises all battling for supremacy in my ear, and the foul stench of cheap perfume, sweat, booze and sex stuck to the inside of my nose hairs. My acute angel senses were working on overdrive in this cesspit.

“Couldn’t Jess have picked someplace less…disgusting?” I had to almost shout to be heard. Mel glanced at me, wearing a nervous smile. This wasn’t either of our scenes.

“You know Jess. She suggested going to Siren’s first.”

My stomach knotted, hearing the name of the devil’s new den. I would never allow Melanie to venture inside there.

“Alright, well, Club Glow it is,” I said with a withering smile.

I’d heard terrible things from other guardians in the area of Siren’s. And it would bring trouble for all of us soon because rumor had it, the devil’s clientele didn’t honor the fated bond to mark a mate. They didn’t ask for permission. They took what they wanted when they wanted it.

And I would fight that entire gang if it meant keeping Mel away from them.
