Subject: Cooking
I’ve cometo realize that I actually like this cooking thing.
I know—it’s a bit of a one-eighty from talking about falling in love.But while in class today, I noticed how much it grounds me.It’s different from music but brings the same kind of peace.A stillness.A quiet sort of focus I didn’t expect.
My brother hated it, by the way.He complained through the whole thing.But he stayed.Endured the whisking and the chopping.It’s good for his mobility—and takes him out of his routine.I think deep down he might’ve even enjoyed it.Just don’t tell him I said that.
We’ll be back on Wednesday for round two of our kitchen adventures.Hopefully, we won’t burn anything this time.By we, I mean him.

StringTheory27:Hey there.Congrats on your culinary adventure.You should probably invite me to eat a gourmet meal when you're ready.
DeadStrings:Will you bring dessert?
StringTheory27:Of course.Probably ice cream—can’t go wrong keeping it simple.
DeadStrings:Sounds like a plan.
StringTheory27:Any new thoughts about your second chance?
DeadStrings:I’m working on it.Trying to earn it.
StringTheory27:Interesting.
DeadStrings:Right?The question is ...what if she’s not ready for us?I can do all the work, but what if she’s not there yet—or not interested at all?
Would you be?
StringTheory27:Interested in what?
DeadStrings:A relationship.
StringTheory27:With who?The guy I used to date or a new one?
DeadStrings:What if he’s the same, but you don’t recognize him immediately?Because he’s changed.
StringTheory27:But I still like him, right?
DeadStrings:I’d say you do.You’re still talking to him.
StringTheory27:Then yes.If I still like him and he can accept this version of me—because I’ve changed too—then yeah, I’d give it a try.
DeadStrings:Would you be okay if he’d been keeping something from you?
StringTheory27:So ...he wasn’t honest?
DeadStrings:He found out something and wasn’t sure if he should tell you.He wasn’t ready to come forward.
StringTheory27:Then he needs to explain that.
“Hey, this happened.I didn’t know how to talk about it.I waited.”
