Leo leans in. “Ejector button?” he softly asks.
“I’d rather tell it only once, Sir.”
“I take it you two are copacetic?”
“I hope so.” I kiss him. “Thanks for putting up with me all these years.”
His gaze searches mine. “Giving up on you was never an option, pet.”
Later that night, once the three of us are in bed with me snuggled in the middle, I can finally decompress. None of us are feeling sexy, just cuddly.
“How bad did Kayley rip into you once you guys were alone?” Leo asks.
“Not bad, Master.” He’s spooned along my back while I’m spooning Jordan. I tell them what happened, including explaining the ejector button comment. “She loves you and Jordan and worries about you.”
I’ll endure every bit of her rage for this outcome.
No more lonely nights. One or both of them will always be with me.
No more forced separation from Leo.
No more guilt over Leo being alone, and Jordan not being able to spend time with him.
“What’d Mom and Dad have to say after I left?” I ask.
“Still trying to make that square peg fit in a round hole in their brain.” Jordan chuckles. “And more of me reassuring them I’m happy and not the victim of some CIA brainwashing experiment or something.”
“They’re okay, baby,” Leo assures me. “Just the shock. They’re getting there.”
“They’ll be fine.” Jordan lets out a yawn. “It’s trippy, that’s all.”
“I’m glad they love you, Jor,” I say.
Jordan squeezes my hands. “They’ll love you, too, boy. Give them time.”
Leo nibbles on the nape of my neck. “NowJordan can plan us a wedding.”
Jordan sighs. “Jordan just ended up with a shit-ton more work to do, didn’t he?”
Except his tone belies his words—he’s pleased. Why wouldn’t he be? This is a dream come true for him.
Then he speaks again, this time to Leo. “How bad were Elliot’s mom and dad, Sir?”
“It was productive.” Leo fills him in and they bat ideas back and forth on how to spin this for the press.
I lie there, sandwiched between them and listening to them talk as if I’m not even present.
Which is fine with me. I kind of prefer it this way, letting them be in charge.
Finally, they both drift to sleep and I’m able to close my eyes and process the events of the last twenty-four hours.
I’m publicly out.
I’m engaged.
My parents haven’t disowned me,andI’m going to be able to help them retire.
And Leo’s family now knows about us and Jordan.
