And he’s still wearing the butt plug.
I carefully climb back into bed and he naturally snuggles against me the way he always does with Leo. The way I snuggle with him and Leo, both, when they are in charge.
Maybe I did need this more than I realized, instead of bottom time. Being in charge with no repercussions as long as I do no harm. Not having to weigh any words or worry about polls.
I can be Jordan’s dark and dirty dream come true, his safe haven, no judgment for his desires.
All I can do is hopefully live up to the trust he and Leo both have in me.
Four morefuckingyears.
God, I’m a dumbass.
CHAPTERFORTY
Time ticks downuntil it’s Friday, the day before I pop the question.
When you’re the president of the United States and everyone around you caters to your every need and focuses on making sure you are in no way inconvenienced, it’s sometimes easy to forget how much hard work goes into planning for me to physically leave the White House grounds. The logistics are fricking insane.
That I am rarely aware of those logistics or the resulting insanity inflicted upon everyone else means those working for me are performing their jobs impeccably.
When I want to do something extra—and doubly especially without the public knowing the details in advance—that means even more work for my staff to arrange and coordinate with the Secret Service.
Particularly it means more work for Jordan, in this case.
It’s also additional work he says he’s overjoyed to take on.
The “extra” in this instance is having Leo present with us at the event so I can propose to him during the hike without him getting suspicious about why I insisted on having him there. Leo’s already part of my inner circle, so coordinating his presence with Secret Service isn’t an issue. Jordan’s already told them Leo will be riding with us back to the White House after the hike.
It’ll be fun seeing Leo and Jordan forced to dress in something other than a suit or khakis.
Or naked.
Honestly? I can’t remember the last time that, outside of the residence, I’ve seen Jordan or Leo dressed in anything other than a suit, or khakis, or a tux for formal occasions. Blue jeans a few times, on weekends when I’ve had to work downstairs. Even the day I had Jordan brought to me in Tallahassee he was dressed business casual. Then, when he returned from packing his things, he had changed into one of the suits he used to wear.
It’s rare I see Jordan in workout clothes, not counting sweats or sleep pants. He usually doesn’t work out when I do because he’s taking care of stuff for me, or going over scheduling issues with me, or briefing me, or whatever it is that I need to be caught up on.
Always focused on me and my life, my job, and never on himself.
I know Jordan and Leo shared workouts when they lived together. Perhaps now that we’re past the election, and with Leo around all the time, I can talk Jordan into joining me for my workouts.
Or maybe Leo can order him to.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that other than in the privacy of our home I’ve never seen Jordan dressed in “outdoorsy” clothes. Maybe Leo has, because—
I chop that thought off at the kneecaps. When Jordan entered my life full-time I already occupied the political spotlight and I couldn’t go anywhere without my detail.
Of course Jordan and Leo have done things together in the past where Jordan was able to shed the trappings of his White House job. At odds in my conscience are the thought of them as a normalcouple, and the thought of their mutual dedication tomenow keeping them apart most of the time. It’s rare the three of us get to spend a chunk of time together.
But not for much longer.
I swallow back the lump in my throat that thought triggers and immediately, before I even realize I’m doing it, I shake my right hand so my bracelet rattles against my wrist under my shirt cuff.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day.
No wonder Jordan playfully grumbled I was putting him through “outdoor torture.”
Then again, I wonder if he evenhasmany clothes for outdoor activities. Seems like I remember him telling me he used to love hiking and biking when he was a kid. And he’s in great shape, too.
