I shake my head, knowing that’s not a question.

My heart races, hopeful and terrified at the same time.

I see them out, watching through the cracked door as Christopher glances back at me one last time beforestepping around the senator and leading the way to the car.

I close the door and lock it behind me, turning and leaning against it as my heart races in my chest.

Apparently, I no longer need to look for a job.

It found me.

Along with, if I’m not mistaken, a whole lot of trouble.
