I wasn’t too surprised about it. It had just been something that I couldn’t prove. When I ran into that nigga the other night in the restroom at the game, and he said that shit to me about Dionne, and how it was just my turn, along with how she was going to do me the same way that she did him, I heard nothing but bitterness in his voice, and that’s when I was truly convincedthat he had something to do with getting someone to snatch her dog up, and kill him.
“We knew that. We just didn’t have a way to prove it. What you want me to do? Kill em?” I nonchalantly asked, turning around in the swivel stool that I was sitting on, so that I could face her.
I pulled her by her arm, making her stand in between my legs, and once she was there, my hands were back to holding her ass. Since she was just in the house chilling, and cooking for me, she was in her lounge clothes. Her lounge clothes consisted of black biker shorts, and they were high wasted. She wore a white, half tee tank top, that showed just a little of her stomach. Her nipples were on full display because she didn’t have a bra on underneath. Since she was cooking, her hair was pulled up, and out of her face. Dionne was so fuckin beautiful to me, and I don’t think that I would ever get tired of saying that shit.
“I don’t understand why he would kill my dog though,” she said it in a way like she was trying to convince herself on the ‘why’.
She was confused.
“When people do fucked up shit to you, nine times out of ten, it’ll never really make sense to us. It’s not supposed to. You’ll drive yourself crazy trying to figure that shit out, so don’t even attempt. If I had to guess though, I think that goofy ass nigga came up with a plan to have someone do that to your dog, and he thought that you would come running back to him, telling him what happened, especially since he’s the one that got you the dog in the first place. I don’t know. I could be wrong. That’s just my theory though,” I replied, leaning in, so that I could kiss her on her exposed cleavage.
She continued to stand there with this blank look on her face, biting her lip as if she was still trying to make it all make sense.
That’s when I leaned back in the stool, took my hands off her, so that I could rest them in my lap, and I continued looking up at her.
“They say a person that’ll kill a dog turns out to be a serial killer. If you kill a dog, that makes you a fucked-up person. We don’t know if he did that shit, or if the nigga from the video did it. Either way it goes, that makes him fucked up. When you were fuckin with him, he was never violent to you in any kind of way? Never put his hands on you? Roughed you up a little bit?” I asked her.
Her eyes had been on me for the longest, but the second I finished asking her the question, she dropped eye contact with me. Shit was suspicious as fuck.
“No, he never hit me,” she said, but I felt like her ass was lying.
“It’s a good thing you didn’t go to school for law because you make a terrible liar. Look me in my eyes and tell me that nigga never put his hands on you,” I was dead ass serious now, as I stood up from the stool.
Dionne backed up a little bit, so that she could put a little distance between us.
“Tank, what reason do I have to lie about that? He never hit me while we were together,” she said, moving away, so that she could go back over to the stove, and check on the cabbage.
I was on her ass, following her into the kitchen.
“What about after, then? When ya’ll stopped fuckin around with each other, did he put his hands on you?” I broke the question down a little bit for her, making it more specific.
She took the top off the pot, and she used the big spoon that she had on the counter, so that she could mix the food around. Her ass was stalling.
When she finished doing that, that’s when she turned to look back at me.
“He didn’t,” she said after that long ass dramatic pause.
“Name somebody you love other than me. Like really, really love. Who is it?” I asked her.
“Anybody in my family,” she replied quickly.
“Name somebody. One person though,” I was on her ass. I knew how to make a person tell the truth.
“Liberty,” she replied, calling out her niece.
“Put it on Liberty that that nigga never touched you,” I came closer to her because the goal was to make her ass sweat and cough up the truth that she was holding on to.
I swear if she gave in and told me that that nigga put his hands on her before, and she was protecting him, I was going to spaz on her ass.
“What? Tavion, you sound insane!” she pushed me back, so that she could walk away, but I pulled her ass.
“No, you sound insane, and like you’re trying to hide something from me. If he never put his fuckin hands on you like you claiming, then put it on your niece right now that he didn’t!” I roared.
She saw it in my eyes that I was no longer playing with her ass. It took me raising my voice a little bit at her and pulling on her for her to get it through her thick ass head that I was dead serious.
When she swallowed the lump in her throat, released a deep breath, and dropped her head in shame, I knew she was about to put some shit on me that was about to piss me clean the fuck off.
“The weekend after I got back home from Milan, I went to church with my mom. When I got off the elevator, there was a man standing at the end of the hallway, but from what I saw, he looked to have been going into his unit. I didn’t think anything of it. Moments later, I was at my unit, and before I could close the door, that same man that had been at the end of the hallway, he was forcing his way into my place. It was Garrus. A lot of backand forth between us. He was upset with me because of all the money that he’s spent on me, along with us finally getting our chance to be together since his wife is locked up, and I didn’t want anything to do with him. When I tried to walk away, and see him to the door, he….” Her voice trailed off. She wouldn’t even say it. She wouldn’t even look at me.
