He looks fucking sexy, in his wranglers, blue button-up shirt and tan cowboy hat that matches his boots the color of his shirt is the exact shade of his eyes and the slightly long blonde hair that peeks out of underneath his hat make me want to run my hands through it and pull him in to kiss me.

The stubble on his chin has grown out, but I'm not complaining one bit. I love the feel between my legs, across my neck, everywhere on my skin. A man, specifically a Crossroads Cowboy, must have facial hair. Not too long but not too short, and Jase’s is the perfect length.

At the bar, we find Raven standing on the counter, pouring drinks directly into the mouths of her loyal patrons. She looks gorgeous in a pair of tiny ripped denim shorts and a gray crop top, showcasing her incredible figure. This woman is ‌insanely fit and toned. Her pin-straight black hair falls down her back while I catch two of my brothers leaning against the counter beside her. Beau watches her curiously while Monty’s jaw is clenched so tight, I think his teeth might shatter.

So much for proving Raven isn’t trouble. Both their eyes rake over her body with interest, but I know for a fact they could never handle a woman like Raven Dawson.

“You made it!” Billie squeals, running over to us and hugging me like we haven't seen each other in years.

“Wouldn’t miss this,” I say, ignoring the way Theo’s gaze slides from me to Jase like he’s still evaluating every inch of him.

Jase extends a hand to my brother. “Evening, Theo.”

My brother’s stage-ready, with his guitar slung across his chest. Theo shakes it briefly but firmly. “Jase.”

I roll my eyes, annoyed he’s suddenly acting like the tough one now that everyone's moved on and gotten over the initial shock of Jase and me. Before I can say more, Billie tugs me toward a table at the edge of the small stage. “You’re sitting in the front row, obviously.”

Jase leans in, his breath warm against my ear. “Every eye in this room is on you, and it’s not because of what you think. It’s because of how fucking sexy you look tonight, Moonshine. This fucking dress,” he groans, tugging at the fitted black strapless dress that hugs my curves and belly, “I’m trying so fucking hard not to be jealous of the men watching you.”

I swallow the urge to turn and kiss him because I know that will only lead to more, and we can’t exactly do it in the middle of a crowded bar. We’ve been insatiable for the last two weeks. Every chance has ended with the two of us in bed, on the kitchen counter, in the middle of the living room. I’ve been incredibly aroused, a side effect of pregnancy I was not planning for. It’s a good thing Jase and I are fully committed to.

I swat his hat wrapped around my waist, but, but my lips twitch with a smile. “You’re impossibly possessive, Jameson King.”

“Only for you, Moonshine,” he says, and I felt the heat in those words to my core. God, I’m so aroused, and in public of all places.

I’m grateful for the distraction when Billie and Theo take the stage. The room erupts in ‌‌wild applause, cheering for their resident heartthrob superstar, who has made it a common theme to spend time in his hometown.

The chatter dims, and the room goes almost silent as the first guitar chord rings and draws everyone in. Theo’s deep voice, a lower range falsetto than what he’s used to, hypnotizes the crowd with the lyrics to a song I’m not familiar with.

“The memory of your face, forever ingrained in mine. The color of your eyes, a mosaic of the lost time. The night I walked away was the last line that I crossed. My only regret, I’d take it back no matter the cost.”

Billie’s ethereal melodies with a slight southern twang complement his voice perfectly as she chimes into the chorus of the duet, but it’s the lyrics that have the entire room stunned.

“If it were up to me, I’d never have walked away. The night we had our first fight would have been the only heartbreak. If it were up to you, you’d never forgive my mistakes. If it were up to you, you'd have it your way.”

Jase’s hand finds mine, fingers lacing tight as he tugs me away from the table. “Dance with me.”

I look around at the crowded dance floor. “There’s no room.”

But he’s already guiding me toward a sliver of open space near the edge of the crowd. His arms slid around my waist, careful but firm, pulling me into his chest.

I close my eyes and I nuzzle into the crook of his neck, feeling completely mesmerized by the man before me. How did I get so lucky to call him mine? To have his full life and support, and get to do this with him at my side.

Theo and Billie sound incredible singing in perfect sync with one another. I open my eyes and find Bailey and Nash have joined us, swaying to the music with their foreheads pressed tight against one another.

Bailey turns and smiles, but Nash groans as he looks away. “God, you two are disgustingly cute now. I’m looking away before I throw up.”

I laugh because so are they, and I love to see my brother as happy as he is with my best friend. I want all of my brothers to find the same love and happiness Nash and I have found.

We continue to slowly sway our bodies, Jase’s thumb stroking along my lower back like he can’t stop touching me.

When the song ends, he doesn’t let go right away. He grips my chin, pulling my face to his, and looks at me like there’s no one else in the room with us. He kisses me just as the crowd erupts, and I’ve never been happier than I am now.

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Jase

“Bailey is truly incredible at what she does, and I’m not just saying that because she’s my favorite sister,” I joke with Brynn as we take in the masterpiece that is this baby shower.
