I sigh and meet her gaze. “I was right.”

“About what?”

“How good he is with his tongue.”

Her jaw drops, and she fans herself dramatically. “He has good oral skills?”

“He has good everything,” I moan. “And he looks like freaking Ryan Gosling without his shirt on.”

“Harper, you can’t let him go.”

I swallow hard. “Gina—”

“You never talked about Asher like this. It took you weeks to tell me you had sex for the first time, and at least a year for it to get better. You look ready to melt after just one night with Ford Stokes.”

My skin tingles at the memory of last night. “I wish I could explain it. Every move… He just did everything so right. I didn’thave to tell him to shift or change what he was doing. When I said I was close, he drove us home together.”

“You came together?”

“After he made me come with his mouth,” I admit, sliding down the door. “I’m in so much trouble now.”

Gina pants like a dog, looking utterly ridiculous, and I toss a shoe at her. “Did you really need something?”

“No, I just wanted to make sure you didn’t make a mistake. I saw Kenzie when I walked out there, but not Asher.”

Frowning, I tilt my head. “What do you mean?”

“Yeah, I don’t know where Asher went, but I was hoping he wasn’t in bed with you after the way he was undressing you with his eyes while scowling at Ford all night. The last thing anyone needs is you spending the night with Asher Andrews.”

I laugh and shake my head. “That would never happen. Never again.”

“Because Ford’s better in bed?”

“I didn’t say that—”

“Harper Anne Wallace!” Gina scrambles off the bed and grabs my shoulders, shaking me. My head thuds against the door, and I push her away. “There’s no way you can say Asher Andrews is better in bed than Ford. It’s just not possible.”

“I didn’t say that,” I protest.

“Okay, but I need to know. Who’s better?” I swallow hard and glance down at the floor. “It’s not really a contest—”

“Harper!”

“And everyone has their own—”

“Harper!”

“They both have—”

“Harper!”

“Fine! Ford.”

“I knew it!” I laugh and rise to my feet. “But I can’t let it happen again.”

“Like hell you can’t! Santa brought your present early, and like a bike, Ford is meant to be ridden. A lot and hard.”

I roll my eyes and shake my head. “He’s Asher’s best friend.”
