“Madison. I caught them in here together with the door locked.”
“Then how did you get in?” Lucca looked around. “Where is Madison?”
“And if you knew they were in here together, why did you try and get in?” Gabe stepped in between Dante and Enzo, moving Enzo back.
“I just tried the door. It was locked. I waited until she came out. That’s how I know they were in there with the door locked.” Enzo stepped around Gabe.
Dante moved back and sat down. He needed to finish up the cash slips, and Ed would drop them off at the bank so that he could get to Madison sooner. If he didn’t know that he was Madison’s first in every way, he would have believed something had happened between her and Enzo.
Even the thought of the two of them together made him want to claim Madison again so that everyone knew she was his. She. Was. His.
Lucca held up his hands. “What’s the deal, Enzo? What Dante and Madison do is between them.”
“She was mine, and he took her. Why do you think she didn’t have to follow club rules so no one would touch her?”
“Did you ask her if she wanted to be yours?” asked Lucca
Enzo turned toward Lucca. “That’s rich coming from you, Lucca. Does Ainsley want to be yours?”
“Ainsley and I are different, and we are getting to know each other.”
“Dante didn’t even know Madison, and the first day he comes in she drops her panties like a whore.” Spit came out of Enzo’s mouth.
Dante was up before anyone could blink and had slung Enzo up against the wall, with his forearm on Enzo’s throat. “For him. When I was here giving her space.”
“Don’t. You. Ever. Ever. Speak those words and Madison’s name together.”
“Let’s all calm down and take a step back.” Lucca and Gabe pulled Dante off of Enzo, who dropped to his knees before he stumbled to his feet.
“What’s going on?” Lucca asked again.
“Nothing,” Dante repeated. “I need to go.”
“Oh, I was hoping we could all do something together.” Gabe looked around.
“Sorry, G. I’ve got plans.” Dante stopped by Enzo who still gasped for air. He wanted to say something and paused, but he had made himself clear. And he strode out.
He trusted Enzo not to say anything else. Even if Enzo was pissed. It was family first. Yeah, but Dante hadn’t cared when he found out Enzo wanted Madison. He wouldn’t give her up for anything. But that shit with Enzo had made him miss her sets. He headed back to the office to wait for her so he could pay her before she left.
His chest tightened at Madison moving on and dating Enzo instead of him.
****
Madison had looked around for Dante during her sets, but he didn’t show up, and he didn’t come to get a drink either. He didn’t need to come down and see her, she bet he was making other plans for the night and the rest of the week.
She still had to go up and get her money from her sets. That was going to be awkward. She trudged up the back steps to get to his office. Dante sat at his desk with his head in his hands.
“Dante?” His head popped up. “Is something wrong?”
“No. It’s nothing. Remembered some deals I made.”
Madison’s heart dropped. The deal where they were supposed to be exclusive, was he going to cancel their deal? He had a healthy appetite, and she doubted he could go eight days before they would be able to have sex again.
He sat up straight and cracked his neck. “Here’s your money.”
Madison reached to get it, but he wasn’t even looking at her. She figured this would happen. She didn’t know why she acted like she hadn’t expected this coldness towards her.
“Great, thanks.” She turned. She didn’t even bother to say bye. He wasn’t listening to her anyway. She left and closed the door behind her.
