“Skip, don’t you dare!”
I turn my head so that I can fully watch his crime.
He eats the wing in one bite, sliding the bone from his mouth.
I gasp like he’s committed treason. “Oh my gosh, you barbarian.”
“Pretty boy,” he says, voice warm and amused, “If sharing wings is what breaks you, we’re gonna have a long road ahead.”
“I’m serious!” I hiss, smacking his shoulder. “Stealing someone’s wings should be a felony. That was the best one! It hadextrasauce!”
“Then,” he murmurs, dipping his chin to brush a warm kiss against my cheek, “you can have the next best one.”
He holds out a wing like he’s offering me the Holy Grail.
I narrow my eyes at him, dead serious. “Keep ’em coming, big guy. I’ve got a figure to maintain.”
Skip’s grin goes slow and wicked. “Good. I like having more of you to hold onto. Now eat up. Turns out feeding my man is a brand-new kink I didn’t know I had.”
I reach for the wing, but he jerks it back, giving me a glare that could peel paint.
“What part offeedingdidn’t you understand?” he says. “Open up, pretty boy.”
I want to glare right back at him with the reminder that I’m not some dainty little woman in a romance novel he has to fuss over.
But the truth? Ilikehis fussing.
Probably too much.
So instead of saying anything that might ruin the moment, I shut my mouth… then open it again like he asked…and I let him feed me.
Chapter Sixteen
Eli
“Over here is where I’ll have my cut designs,” Abby says, guiding me toward a corner of her shop. “There’s only one biker club in this area, but the club’s been growing. More members means more business.”
Spike only agreed to this trip after a ridiculous amount of convincing. And maybe a few tears from his sister. He didn’t like it mostly because almost all the officers, minus Knuckles, are all tied up in meetings with Maverick’s people about something Cortéz-related.
They don’t tell us much when it comes to club business, and honestly? I’m okay with that. Skip promised they’ll always tell us enough to keep us safe. That’s all I need.
“The men all wear the same cut,” Abby continues. “Always black. Non-negotiable. But Spike doesn’t mind if the old ladies wear theirs in whatever color they want. Bones bought Sunny one in every color.”
I nod. I’ve seen Sunny show up in a pink one day, lime green the next. She has the confidence for it.
“Riley has a black one and just ordered a red one,” Abby says.
“Do you make all of them?” I ask.
She brightens. “Yeah! I used to order pre-made cuts and just add patches, but then I found a company that sells insanely high-quality leather. So I bought a ton of it and made about fifty cuts. Now I just add patches when a new member needs one. Lila has a black one too. She doesn’t want any other color.”
“What about yours?” I ask.
Abby’s entire face softens, sadness tugging at her smile. “I’m not an old lady.”
“But you’re still a member, right?”
“Sort of.” She nods. “I have one that saysProperty of the Iron Shadows MC.Spike gave it to me because I’m his sister. A club princess.” Her voice wavers. “I’m supposed to wear it every time I leave the compound. But… all I can think about is how much I want it to sayProperty of Tankinstead. And that’s… depressing.”
