Gray holds out his hand, and I nearly bounce as he shows me the little raccoon in his palm. “For your collection.”

I take it, holding the carving in my hand. “Thank you,” I say softly, looking at them both. “For these. I love them.”

“You deserve nice things, Sienna,” Logan says softly. “This is only the start.”

My ears grow warm, and I swallow. They’re really trying. Maybe… maybe this could be permanent. Maybe this could be us. Jax’s arms tighten around me, his chin settling into the crook of my neck. “Everything okay, shortcake?”

“Perfect,” I whisper. Leaning back against him, I soak in his warmth.

For now, this is perfect.

Gray leans forward as I’m inspecting my things, my fingers tracing over the bunting. “There might be some more upstairs.”

My feet are moving almost before he finishes his sentence, and Jax grumbles good-naturedly as I scramble off his lap. Grinning, I dart back and kiss his cheek, and his eyes widen. “Go on,” he teases. “I’m gonna have to up my game, I think. Can’t have the rest of them outshining me.”

I take a moment to carefully collect my things, Logan carrying the glass as I dive for the stairs. I have a nest to build, and lovely things to put in it.

Today is a good day.

LOGAN

Gray and I linger in the doorway of Sienna’s room, watching her fuss with her new things, darting in and out of her nest. She pauses when she sees us standing there, her mouth twisting.

Holding out the glass rose, I smile. “This is yours, I believe.”

She relieves me of the rose with a small frown creasing the middle of her forehead. “Thanks.”

“What’s wrong?” Gray asks her, clearly picking up the same vibe that I’m getting. “Is there something you don’t like?”

“No, everything is lovely.” She chews on her lip, her eyes flicking to us. “I’d invite you in, but…”

Ah. I get it now. An omega’s space should be sacred, a complete comfort, with nothing disrupting it.

And we might have made progress, but she doesn’t completely trust us yet.

“No need to apologize,” I murmur. “We get it.”

Sienna looks conflicted. “Tell us what you need,” Gray urges.

She throws up her hands. “I want you to stay,” she complains. “Just not… in here?”

I’ll take it. Carefully, I settle down just outside the door, grabbing Gray’s hand and pulling him down too. “Like this?”

She nods, a blush stealing over her cheeks. “Sorry.”

“Don’t apologize,” I order quietly. “Not for this.”

“You being uncomfortable with us in your space isn’t your fault,” Gray adds, stretching his legs in front of him. “It’s ours. And we’re happy to sit here for as long as you need us to.”

Our Soul Bonded gives us one final, uncertain nod before she turns back to her nest preparations. We watch her carry things in and out, some of them thrown outside the doors of the nest with an irritated huff before a hand reaches out to drag them back in.

I grin. I can’t help it. She’s adorable. I glance at Gray, and he looks as enraptured as I feel, our eyes tracking our omega as she settles into her space.

She becomes more comfortable, her tentative movements becoming more confident as she works. She keeps looking out to see if we’re still there. We’re not going anywhere.

Finally, she emerges from her nest with a satisfied smile. “I think… I think I’m done. For now, I mean.”
