Tristan doesn’t look down, holding her gaze. “I know. And we’ll spend the rest of our lives making it up to her.”
Jess looks at the beta, indecision in her eyes. He looks over us before sighing and crossing his arms. “More guests.”
“They’re not stepping foot in here,” Jess snaps. “Let them camp outside.”
With that, she stomps off, following Sienna’s steps. We’re left in an awkward silence, the beta studying us intently, a small frown on his face.
“So you’re the reason she looks like that?” he asks. The affable look he wore around the omegas slides away, and he bares his teeth. “I’m not having abusers under my roof.”
I flinch at his stark words. But they’re fucking true.
“We have to stay close,” Tristan responds carefully. “We’ll respect her wishes for distance as much as we can, but we’re not going anywhere.”
The beta nods slowly. “There’s a storage shed behind this building. You can use that, but you’re not coming inside.”
“Agreed.” Tristan sounds weary as he turns, nudging us all away.
Gray and Logan are quiet as we unload our packs, their eyes sliding to the windows around the building. Awareness prickles the back of my neck. We’re being watched.
“I need a minute,” Logan says abruptly. I watch as he stalks away from us into the trees. Gray hesitates, but he follows him, leaving Tristan and I in uncomfortable silence.
“Fancy words, considering you’re leaving.” The drawl in my voice hides the pain I don’t want him to see. How the fuck can he even consider walking out on us?
Tristan sighs. “I’m not going anywhere right now, Jax. Not until Sienna is healed and healthy. Then it’s her decision. But she doesn’t want me around. The rest of you… I think you can make it work, in time.”
“So you’re just fucking off?” I demand. “That’s it, thanks for the memories, see you fuckers later?”
He shakes his head as we move towards the building Emmett pointed out. “What do I do, Jax?” he asks. “I won’t force her to accept a Soul Bond with me. I don’t know if Icanleave, if three Bonds are enough to keep her healthy.”
“You’re being a fucking martyr,” I point out. “No wonder she doesn’t want us. You can’t be assed to even fight for her, Tris.”
He snarls, throwing his pack down. “You think I don’twantto?” he demands. “Think I don’t want to walk in there right fucking now, fall on my fucking knees and beg her for forgiveness? I would do anything to make this right, Jax.Anything.”
“There it is.” I shove him. “So pull your head out of your ass, and fight for our Soul Bonded, Tristan. For all of us. That’s what I’m going to do.”
He stays silent, grabbing his pack and stalking into the storage room. Following him, I glance around at the stacks of crates and mess lying everywhere.
This feels a little bit like karma biting us in the ass.
Sinking down onto a crate, I wince as I shuffle to get comfortable. God, the wildcat can pack a punch. Straight into my balls.
I’d take a dozen if Sienna would just talk to us.

LOGAN
The trunk splinters under my knuckles as I hit it.
Harder.
Again.
Sienna’s face is burned into my mind. What the fuck have we done?
Arms wrap around me, pulling me back, and I shove Gray off. He stumbles to the side before he comes back. “Logan.”
“No,” I snap. “This is on us, Gray. All of us, not just Tristan. Fucking Christ. Did you see her?”
