Jax stomps after him, grumbling, and I slide my eyes to Logan, both of us meeting in the middle before we look away.

“Logan,” I breathe. “Can we talk?”

Shaking his head, he gets up too. “It’s done, Gray. I meant what I said.”

My hands shake as I close them into fists. “You don’t mean that. We’re good together, Lo. Really good. Don’t throw that away.”

His scoff is dismissive. “So good you couldn’t even admit it to our pack. And look how that turned out.”

Regret sours my stomach. “I’m sorry. If I could go back—,”

“It’s done now.” Logan moves past as I fight the urge to grab him, to pull him towards me and beg him to make a different choice. “And for what it’s worth, I’m sorry, too.”

And then he’s gone.

SIENNA

Smoothing down my hair, I sigh at the absolute mess looking back at me in the cracked mirror.

Tangled, slightly greasy hair? Check.

A very crumpled, dirty Bonding gown? Check.

I look like I’ve stumbled straight out of a zombie story. My face is pale, dark circles under my eyes testifying to the hours I spent tossing and turning on that shitty little mattress last night, thanks to the fucking ache caused by the absence of my Bonds.

The ache stabs again under my hand. Better get used to that.

Time to face the music.

Exiting my shitty little excuse for a room, I retrace my steps from yesterday back to the kitchen. A rumble of voices filters out as I brace myself.

The voices cut into silence as I walk into the room. Jax and Logan are seated around the table, Tristan stirring a cup of sweet-smelling coffee that makes my mouth water.

Thankfully, Alicia is nowhere to be seen. Neither is Grayson, which is welcome because his nasty words from yesterday were the soundtrack to my shitty night’s sleep, but also very fucking unwelcome because my stomach apparently doesn’t care that he’s an unfeeling asshole and wouldliketoseehimverymuchrightnowifyouplease. Wincing, I gesture towards the coffee.

“Could I have some of that, please?” I ask. Tristan steps away, motioning with his hand. “Help yourself.”

His face is wiped of expression again as he takes a seat. Everyone unsubtly tries not to watch me as I approach the steam breathing alien machine that apparently makes their coffee. After a few minutes prodding buttons, I’m about to cry from a severe caffeine deficiency when a steaming cup is shoved under my chin. “Here.”

Logan frowns as he hands me his cup.

“Ah… thank you.” I retreat, resisting the urge to bare my teeth at the metal monstrosity. Apparently I have more than one nemesis in this house.

Lingering, I awkwardly cradle Logan’s coffee as everyone ignores me once again.

“Um… Logan?” I ask quietly. “Did you say my clothes might arrive today?”

He doesn’t look up. “Do I look like your personal assistant?”

Wow.

I take a deep breath and pray for patience. “You sure as hell look like the alpha who told me my clothes would arrive today. I was hoping for a little more information, but don’t worry about it. I’ll just trail dust all over your house until I have something else to wear.”

Jax whistles under his breath as Tristan glances over his newspaper with a frown. “Why are you so dirty?”

My cheeks flush. About to launch into a heated explanation of the absolute shittiness of my room, I’m thwarted as a voice drawls behind me, making my chest thump.
