It sounds a little fast.

When I cock my head up, Axel is staring down at me, his mouth slightly open. My whole body flushes with embarrassment.

Holy shit. What am Idoing?

I move to pull back, an apology on my lips, but Axel wraps his arms around me like steel bands.

“What are you doing, little spoon?” he murmurs.

Swallowing, I struggle to meet his eyes.

“Sorry,” I whisper. “I – I don’t know—,”

I don’t know what just happened.

A little furrow appears in Axel’s forehead.

“So this is an omega thing, then?” he asks carefully. “Not a Gabrielle thing?”

Grateful for the easy out, I’m about to blame it all on my pesky pheromones when I pause.

“Not… not just an omega thing,” I admit.

Axel feels safe. They all do. But anyone outside of that… my palms start sweating at the thought of it.

This can’t be an omega thing. Because surely, any alpha would do.

And the only alpha I want right now is in this room.

Avoiding his eyes, I lean back against his chest, my voice muffled. “Not an omega thing at all, actually.”

Axel’s hand strokes down my hair, the gentle caress at odds with the sheer size of him.

“Sleep then, little spoon,” his voice rumbles in his chest. “I’ve got you.”

And just like that, my eyes drift closed as if the last few hours never happened at all.

There’s something digging into my butt.

Something big.

My eyes fly open as Axel’s breathing rumbles in my ear, my body becoming absolutely still. He grumbles in his sleep, his arms banding around my waist and tucking me into him, his body curving over me.

His hand closes firmly over my right breast.

And his dick slips straight between my cheeks.

The sensation sends a tremble through my whole body. A deep, clenching tug of need comes directly from my lower half.

If I was half asleep before, I’m well and truly awake now.

The steady breathing behind me hitches, the drowsy voice behind me full of pure alpha male.

“What are you doing, little spoon?”

I freeze.
