“Deanna,” Declan warns, voice low.
I give his hand a quick squeeze.
“The soft, flowy material is the secret.” I add a playful wink her way.
She twirls one of her curls. “Good. Before the day is over, show me a couple dresses that’ll work in my favor on my date tomorrow night.”
“A date with who? If I haven’t vetted them cancel the date,” Declan barks.
I slip my hand from Declan’s. Not sure why he thinks his sister shouldn’t get thoroughly fucked by a fine ass man.
“Monica and Tyson, are you ready for our grand opening?” I ask as I approach the counter.
Tyson smiles wide. “Yes, can’t wait to assist all the beautiful women.”
I rub my brow. “We talked about this. You aren’t here to add to your dating pool.”
He runs a hand through his short blond strands. “Meridea, I promise I won’t bring trouble to your doorstep.”
“Sure you won’t,” Monica snorts.
“There wouldn't be any other women if you’d give me a chance, Monica.”
His blue eyes sweep over her mahogany-colored face like he’s studying her.
Monica and Tyson attend Blue Haven college. Tyson probably applied for this job to be close to Monica.
“Let me know what you ladies want for lunch,” Tyson says.
“Wait, I can probably guess what you want for lunch, Monica.”
“Don’t be gross, Tyson.”
“I wouldn’t be gross in front of the boss.” His arms cross his athletic muscled chest. “A turkey spinach wrap and a kale salad.”
Monica’s brown eyes narrow. “Tyson, are you stalking me?”
He glances at me. “Boss, do you need any furniture moved around before we open?”
He stalks her. How cute.
“No.” I point between them. “Focus on the customers.”
“We will,” Monica pipes up.
“Tyson, I’ll let you know about lunch.” I rub my belly.
He glances at his watch. “Time to open the doors.”
“Boss, your snacks are under the counter,” Monica adds.
“Thank you. I’ll need one an hour in.”
We laugh.
I move to the door. “Welcome to Plush Haven Boutique.”
Patrons trickle inside gravitating to the racks.
