I pulled up at our new warehouse, which was the second thing Havoc purchased with the money he made from the black market. Everything else was still under Sincere’s control until the night of the meeting, so he was making a little something compared to what type of money we’d be making after this announcement. Still, I was grateful that we finally had our own spot for us to meet up.

We were slowly and surely putting our own crew together. Oblique had been in the game long enough, so it made sense for him to be the first person we brought on. He had his peoples that he fucked with heavy and trusted. So far, we were a crew of fifteen, so our own warehouse was definitely needed.

I found comfort in knowing that Havoc was more put together than I gave him credit for. To be honest, I didn’t know shit about him and just ran off a lot of assumptions. I was just glad he proved me wrong.

As soon as I stepped into the warehouse, I saw Trini sitting there scrolling on her phone.

She must have sensed my presence because her head shot up in my direction. I smiled widely, knowing it was only going to piss her off, and just like I knew she would, she flipped me off.

Havoc and Oblique laughed. For whatever reason, this damn girl just didn’t like my ass. She was acting like she wasn’t the one who tried to fight me. All I could do was shake my head.

“Trini, I know you love me, baby girl. Stop fighting it,” I shouted. Her mouth dropped, and I chuckled.

“Nigga, you wish!” she shouted back before going back to her phone. I smiled.

I greeted Havoc and Oblique with a fist bump and dropped into the free seat.

“She’s really not fucking with you, is she?” Oblique questioned. Havoc just shook his head again with a snort.

I looked over in Trini’s direction.

She’d been giving me her whole ass to kiss after she tried to fight me, and I told her to behave.

It then clicked. She didn’t like being told that shit.

I ran a hand across my bottom lip and smiled before I said, “Trini!”

She took a few seconds to finally look my way from her phone, and she stared at me all dry and shit.

I smiled and said, “Behave.”

Again, those middle fingers went up, and I laughed. I loved my new life!

CHAPTER THIRTY

MAKARI “HAVOC” SANCHEZ.

Isat back in the car, looking out of the window, just taking it all in. I was in a place that I never saw myself being in before. This wasn’t the life I’d picked for myself. For as long as I could remember, I loathed everything about The Society because I was never given a choice, but I told myself that I wouldn’t get more involved than I already was. So why was I here?

I was here because Sincere saw something in me that I couldn’t even see in myself, and he also showed me that The Society I thought I knew wasn’t the one he was handing to me.

It wasn’t something I would have ever picked for myself, yet at the same time, it was a place I couldn’t deny fit me more than I ever expected.

Tonight, there was no going back—no changing my mind. This was happening, and I had to be ready because it was going to happen even if I wasn’t.

I sighed heavily, feeling weighed down that although I found the place I truly belonged, I was going without my brother Kelechi. He was always my voice of reason and needed right now more than I could explain.

“It’s full as fuck,” Oblique said from the driver’s seat. He chose to be my personal driver tonight for this occasion, and Iappreciated that. When I approached him about joining us, he didn’t even hesitate for a second.

Oblique had always just been in the background of The Society, just allowing his shop to be used, but never really getting too deeply involved. I knew that I was asking a lot of him by requesting that he join my team. We hired someone else to run his motorcycle store, and he’d been following me ever since without looking back.

I took note of the number of cars that were there, seeing that he was right. Every member of this shit was in this building, and they had no idea that I was here too.

Sincere requested that I wait outside in my car until the right moment. He wanted everyone to be present before he said what he had to say.

Trini and Shakur were already inside.

I suddenly received a text message from Shakur.
