She pointed to the TV where Lawson was driving his car through a small area and then into where a large crowd was waiting for him. There were fans everywhere with camera crews all wanting to get in front of him. He parked the car in front of the stage and got out, taking off his helmet and revealing the man I had longed to see again. I watched as his team all crowded him in their black jumpsuits and then ushered him to the stage.

A man stood at the podium talking, but I could barely hear it.

“Mark, turn it up!” Cally yelled to a man behind the bar. The yammer that had been going on quieted down as Law began to speak.

“Thank you all for making this day amazing!” Law held a fist up into the air. “I seriously couldn’t have done it without my pit crew or my manager Tony.”

He pointed over to where a small group was standing next to the stage, but I wanted the camera to move back to him. I wanted to keep staring at Law standing there on the stage in his outfit, all snug against his perfectly fit body. My eyes roamed over where I knew his hips started and a deep ‘V’ carved them out to make a straight line to his cock. I licked my lips as I watched him continue to talk.

“And lastly, the person I want to acknowledge the most couldn’t be here today. I got her text, so I’m hoping she’s still watching.” I perked up at Law’s words and moved to stand from the table and closer to the bar. “Sugar, this one’s for you.”

He help up the trophy that a man passed to him and a sob broke free. My heart was doing somersaults and I didn’t know how to control myself. Law was making this public and there was no way to stop it.

“Who is she, Lawson?” I heard someone yell out from the crowd. The second the answer left the mystery person’s lips, the whole crowd at the track got silent. That wasn’t it, though. The whole crowd at the bar followed suit. Everyone was waiting to hear who I was.

“Her name is Anya.” He looked from the man who asked the question back to the main camera. “And, sugar, I’ll see you tonight.”

A commotion of questions formed as Law exited the stage and made his way off camera. I quickly fumbled for my phone I had placed in my pocket and searched to see if Law had answered me, but nothing. He was coming here?

Leah and Axel had the brightest smiles on their faces.

“Wait,” Cally spoke up. “Your name is Anya.”

I smiled shyly and ducked my head while shoving a piece of hair behind my ear.

“Yeah, it is.” I looked back up to a dumbfounded Cally.

“Holy shit.”

“Please don’t tell anyone!” I begged before she said something too loud for other bystanders to hear.

“Oh, I won’t, but holy shit. Can he introduce me to Jeremy?”

I laughed at her question. “I’ll see what I can do.” At that exact moment my phone began to ring and the only thing that flashed across my screen wasFuture Husband. There was no hiding it in this close of a space and the first reaction came from Leah.

“Whoa. Why did I not know about this nickname?” She pointed to my phone, but I backed out of the small circle and headed outside where it was less crowded or noisy.

“Hello,” I answered the phone. I knew it was Law from the name on the screen, but even though we’d talked many times on the phone, it still felt awkward for me. I didn’t know how to address him.

“Sugar.” His voice filled my ears and another tear streamed down my face.

“I’m so proud of you.” The words barely came out before another sob escaped.

“Why are you crying?” Law laughed into the phone.

“I’m just so happy and I watched almost the whole race and a waitress at the bar we were at tried to teach me everything she could about what I was watching. It was just so much fun and it made me miss you more, but I’m so damn proud of you. I had no idea you were doing so amazing!” I spat out everything I wanted to say to him in the matter of a few seconds, which caused Law to laugh some more.

“Sugar, calm down.” I heard a few people on the other end of the phone, but Law only paid attention to me. “I’ll be there tonight. Make sure to wait up for me, please.”

“Of course.” I rushed to say.

“I have to leave tomorrow around two, so I won’t be there for long, but I needed to see you. I need to hold you, Anya.”

I leaned against the side of the wall of the bar, picturing the last time he held me until we both fell asleep.

“I’ll wait up.”

“We’ll only have a total of twenty hours together,” he said with a hint of despair in his voice.

“Then we’ll make the most of it, Law.” I stood up from the wall as Leah and Axel exited the bar. “We always do.”
