Sin if you dare. Each team must drive together to the fairgrounds and park in front of the entrance gates within the next thirty minutes—Or beg for Mercy.
I stand, my hand on my hip, waiting for the inevitable and he shows up, his car pulling up to the side of me.
“They have the worst timing ever,” I grumble.
“Would there really be a good time for it?”
“No. But this is not even remotely what I want to do right now.”
He doesn’t sound thrilled either but has a good point. “Better than another dinner at my place.”
“True.” What fuckery do they have planned now? “I should get some different shoes in case we have to climb or run.”
“Just take them off if you need to. We don’t have time to stop.”
“Great idea. In case I haven’t mentioned it lately, this is stupid and inconvenient.” It’s not like I had anything to do. But I’d really like to sleep someday even if it is a short burst. Or at least be in my own bedroom and not trampling around a deserted amusement park.
He remains quiet but I can’t. “Are you sure it was Micah?”
His vision stays forward as I utter his name, and he finally says, “Why because he was supposed to be the nice twin?”
Yeah. And I don’t like that the evil one knows what I’m thinking more than not. “I know he’s malicious. He shares your DNA. Plus, Brooke said Micah fights regularly at the Tomb for fun. No one would enjoy that brutality unless they have some darkness in them.” Both guys seem to enjoy chaos and cruelty.
He doesn’t say anything else.
“Great talk,” I state and as we pull into the parking lot. “Who the hell comes up with this stuff?Sin if you dare. Sounds like a madman’s ranting. Can’t wait to be part of their society. Yippee.”
The Decider isn’t anywhere to be found as Luca comes to a stop in front of the iron gates. The other two teams are parked already, and Micah drives up right at the deadline as our phones ding.
Sin keeps us its servant. When we share the burden, we all benefit from the reward. Each person has to reach climax before you leave. Don’t step out of the vehicle. Don’t drive anywhere until both have achieved an orgasm.
“This is a joke, right?” I ask, holding up my phone. “The old bastards want some kind of freak show to jerk off to.”
“It’s a mind fuck, like everything else is. They know they pull the strings and we’re the puppets.”
“This is beyond screwed up.”
We sit there for a few minutes until I see Matthew’s car rocking slightly. “Well, we know what they decided to go with.”
Luca glances over but doesn’t speak, the muscle in his jawline tightens as his knuckles stay on the steering wheel.
When Matthew and Hannah drive off, I point to Luca’s crotch like it’s not weird as fuck to be in this situation. “Go ahead and get busy with your assignment.”
He turns to me before he says, “No, Ivy. Ladies first. Always.”
God, I want to deck him because I know for a fact, his confidence is warranted in this situation. That infuriating mouth has to be good for something other than nonsense and despair. “And I’m sure there are plenty.”
He finally relaxes a little as he releases the steering wheel and reclines back. “Jealous?”
“No,” I say too quickly earning a snicker from him.
“Hate to ruin the jealousy but there hasn’t been anyone since I laid eyes on you.”
Why the actual fuck did he just tell me that?“Don’t say stuff like that.” I shift in the seat, turning toward the passenger door.“I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to be here with you of all people. This is just a meaningless game.”
“Sure.” One word and his sarcasm is on overload. It’s his way of telling me I’m lying. Am I? I can’t even figure it out myself. But he’s in my head. And I don’t understand it.
“How’d you do it?” I turn back to him. “At the party, how could you tell it was me? Or was that just a lucky guess?”
