A door closed upstairs.

I sighed and reluctantly moved up another step. At least then there was a gap, and I would be less likely to jump into his arms and insist he take me with him.

Maybe.

I could still jump from here…

“Goodnight,” I mumbled.

“Night, Lily.”

His voice. It was like my kryptonite. It made me hesitate and resist the urge to groan with irritation when I eventually turned around and climbed the stairs. Passing my parents' closed door, and then Jane’s, I got to my room and shut my door with a soft click.

The room was dark save for the moonlight coming through my window.

My hand remained on the doorknob as I pressed my forehead to the cool, white door panel. And then forced myself to step back and go to bed. On the way, I stripped off the hoodie and peeled off the leggings to reveal the crinkled satin lingerie beneath. It was one of two things I had bought today and put on with the plan for Dean to remove them. Instead, I was standing in my old bedroom, with a mound of stuffed bears staring at me from the bay window across the room while I daydreamed about being railed by my boyfriend.

Who was just downstairs!

“Fucking great plan that was, Lily,” I grumbled, flopping backwards onto the bed.

I had no intention of going to sleep yet. I was too flustered, overstimulated, and maybe a little desperate for touch as I pressed my thighs together.

Closing my eyes, I let my hand wander down until my phone buzzed on the nightstand.

I swiped it up and quickly opened the text from Dean.

Dean: I don’t think I can sleep…

Me: Neither.

I rolled onto my stomach, chewing my bottom lip as I thought of what else to say. Dean was one step ahead, and a call from him quickly flashed across my screen. I answered immediately.

“This is stupid,” I whispered.

“I’m surprised they let me stay.”

“I’m surprised they haven’t tried locking our bedroom doors as a precaution.” I rolled onto my back again, causing the lingerie to lift with the twisting motion.

Dean’s voice dropped slightly in a way that made my skin prick. “And why would they need to do that, Lily?”

I grinned with mischief. “You tell me.”

“To stop me kissing you.”

“Is that all?”

“It wouldn’t be your mouth.”

I pressed the phone to my chest for a second to settle myself before speaking again. “God, I wish tonight went differently.”

“Now that I’m lyin’ here with nothin’ on my mind but you and that dress, yeah me too. I’m gonna go insane.”

“Hold on,” I smiled, and quickly flicked on the lamp by the bed before posing myself for a photo. I wasn’t completely nude as I positioned the dress on my body. I wanted to leave something to the imagination as I angled the phone above me and snapped several photos before sending him one. “Did you get it?”

There was a pause as he opened the text, followed by a heavy sigh on his end. “Fuuuuck.”

I trailed a finger slowly and lightly down my body and then back up again. “It does not help that I’m wearing kegel balls.”
