Now that I was alone, it was easier for my mind to wander as I stared up into the darkness of my bedroom. Naturally, the first thing that came to mind was Lily wearing that shade of red that looked so good on her lips.

Heat swelled in the pit of my stomach when an image of her lying beside me flashed in my head. It felt wrong to be thinking of her this way but after tonight... I needed a release in the only way I knew.

I closed my eyes and dropped my hand down to cup myself through the fabric of my pants. A breathy groan passed over my lips as the fabric tightened against the sensitive skin of my head. It hardened fast as another image settled in my head.

She was wearing nothing but her red lipstick.

Pressing my head back into the pillow, I arched my hips up and yanked the waistband down. My cock sprung free with a bead of precum trickling from the tip already. I swiped my thumb through it and twisted my fingers around the firm tip as I pictured her touching herself. A little crease in her brow as she spread her legs for me and panted through those soft, red lips.

The idea of ever seeing her that way sent a shudder through my body. I hadn’t had sex with someone, or a mouth around my cock, in fuck knows how long so it wasn’t surprising how quick I had gotten it up. Or how quickly I felt that pleasure pulsing through me already. Gripping my thick shaft and stroking a couple of times could never compare to what it would feel like seated in her, but it was the best I could do in a moment like this. Alone with my imagination.

Just one reminder of how her skin felt beneath my hands, as soft and warm as the satin of her dress, made me grip myself tighter as I pumped my hand up and down just a little faster, throbbing for that sweet release.

I spiraled into my desires, drowning in the thoughts of what I could do to her if she let me. My mind eventually settled on one image of her; Legs on either side of my head, pebbled breasts rising and falling with her shaky breath, and her fingers tangled and pulling at my hair as I spread her flat with my fingers and passed my tongue over her clit.

I grunted as my hips bucked against my fist, spurting three ropes of hot cum onto my abs. It glistened in the street light glow peeking through the blinds, and pooled in the dips between my muscles as I caught my breath and relaxed into the mattress.

Chapter 46

Lily

“I hope yesterday's bible study helped to redirect your thinking,” Mom said pointedly while waiting for the photocopier. The tension that filled the foyer when she walked in seconds ago, could’ve been cut with a knife.

Candice was listening, even if she pretended her attention was on her work.

I turned in my office chair to look back in my mother’s direction and spoke quietly. “Mom, I respect that you feel like you need to...help me with this whole thing, but I promise you, he isn’t so bad—”

She scoffed, her attention on the copier as she gathered the papers from the tray. “So, you didn’t learn anything from yesterday.”

I couldn’t get into this with her, not again. The conversation only ever went in a circle before she shut me down. So instead, I flashed her a dull smile and turned my chair back around. “Whatever you say.”

Could I have picked a better response? Probably.

“Lily,” she started but paused as the front doors of the agency swung open. Making way for a glamorously dressed woman to strut through the doors in black stilettos, tights jeans, and a black short-sleeved top that sat off her shoulders. She removed her dark sunglasses from her nose and placed them in the bag hanging from the crook of her elbow.

Mom quickly slipped on a warm smile and a mask she only ever used on clients while I straightened in my seat.

Antonio’s wife, Julia, had just strolled into our office.

“Good morning,” Mom chimed. “How may I help you?”

Julia stepped up to the front desk, offering me a smile but pretending we were strangers as she swept her ponytail of thick, blonde hair across her shoulder. “I’m here for my ten o’clock appointment, to put down a deposit on that beautiful Bay Ridge mansion.”

The one I had seen with Mom last month.

“Ah, yes. Julia Ricci.” My mother’s smile only widened as she gestured to the hallway. “Please, follow me.”

Julia's different surname to Antonio wasn't surprising considering who he was. I imagined it was to prevent any paper trails leading back to him. Or maybe to keep her safe.

Lifting her chin with a smile, Julia followed Mom to her office in the back, sending me a subtle wink before they walked out of sight.

Candice finally piped up after sitting in silence for so long, blinking after Julia.

“Oh my, isn’t she glamourous,” she whispered.

“She is,” I agreed, lifting the straw of my orange punch juice box to my lips before the front doors swung open again.

My heart leaped into my throat, and I almost inhaled my juice box straw as Dean crossed the threshold of the foyer.
