Chapter 31

The dreaded alarm went off at six o’clock the next morning.

Harrison groaned as he rolled over and smacked one hand down on the top of the clock. The buzzing cut off, but nothing would make the need to get up go away. Falling back onto the bed he looked over to see Jeremy still asleep beside him. He hadn’t even stirred at the alarm. Harrison took in the black smudges on his cheeks and the way his hair stuck up at odd angles because it had still been wet when they’d fallen into bed.

The previous night came rushing at him from all angles. Every word he’d uttered at dinner. The way he’d gripped onto Jeremy’s hand for dear life. At one point, Travis had made a joke, and it had been funny, but Harrison was pretty sure he’d laughed harder than was appropriate. Dear God, Travis and Noah probably thought he was a total idiot.

He hated that he didn’t have better control over his emotions and the glass of wine hadn’t helped. He’d enjoyed the taste, but the alcohol had gone straight to his head and he’d stopped being careful with his words somewhere near the end of the meal.

By the time they made their way to the club he’d abandoned every one of the mental shackles that kept him safely tethered to his normal life. Dark and crowded, the club had appealed to a part of him that was desperate for freedom and he’d gone with it. Dragging Jeremy into the throng of men on the dance floor, he’d lost himself to the thumping beat of the music. Jeremy had seemed to be into it as their bodies moved together in a carnal rhythm, but maybe Harrison had gone a tad… overboard.

He lay perfectly still in the bed as he cringed inwardly. What the hell have I done?

“Is it time to get up already?” The low growl came from beside him, right before Jeremy dragged himself across the bed to lay his head on Harrison’s chest.

“Good morning.” Harrison stared at the top of Jeremy’s head, wondering what the other man was thinking. “How are you feeling this morning?”

“Sleepy,” was the response.

After waiting a beat, Harrison tried again. “Did you have a good time last night?”

That got more of a reaction. Jeremy rubbed his face against Harrison’s chest before lifting it to look at him. “Hell, yes,” he said with a lopsided grin. “You were so out of control.” Pulling himself further up the bed, Jeremy kissed him. “I loved every minute of it.”

Harrison let go of the breath he’d been holding. So far, so good. As long as he and Jeremy were okay, he could handle anything else. “What about Travis and Noah?” he ventured. “Do you think they had a good time?”

“Of course, they did.” Jeremy gave him a baffled look. “You couldn’t tell?”

“Well, you never know,” Harrison said, playing with Jeremy’s hair. “How someone appears on the outside doesn’t always match how they feel on the inside.”

“You know all about that.” Lifting a hand, Jeremy ran his thumb across Harrison’s brow. “Is your bully brain taking over again?”

“I didn’t mean to go so far off my nut last night is all.” He tried to shrug it off, but Jeremy wasn’t about to be fooled so easily. He was a little too good at reading Harrison these days. “Apparently me and alcohol mixed together is a recipe for kinky shit. I could have freaked them out or something.”

Chuckling, Jeremy lifted himself up on one arm. “Not likely. We’ll be getting regular invitations to visit, don’t worry. I’m pretty sure they got off on watching us grind on the dance floor.” He nestled a leg between Harrison’s thighs as a lazy grin curved his mouth. “You were so horny, you couldn’t keep your tongue out of my mouth.” Jeremy demonstrated by sliding his own tongue into Harrison’s mouth, drawing him into a deep, sensual kiss. “Fuck, I could get hard just thinking about it,” he muttered between kisses as his hips began to move restlessly beneath the covers. “And then, when we got home. Holy hell, that was hot.” Harrison turned his body so their erections rubbed together, groaning when Jeremy bucked against him. “I think your kink and my kink will be the best of friends,” Jeremy said with a grin.

“So, I didn’t take it too far?” he asked, hating his own need for reassurance.

“Not even close. In fact,” Jeremy added, as he rubbed noses with Harrison, “I think you should break the rules more often.”

I should break the rules more often. If he’d had such a thought a month ago, or even a week ago, Harrison would have dismissed the idea as nonsense. But he’d taken a chance last night in the hope everything would turn out okay, and it had. He’d had more fun than he could ever remember having in his life and nothing bad had come of it. If anything, he and Jeremy were more deeply connected than ever.

“But right now, duty calls and we should probably get up.” With one last kiss, Jeremy got out of the bed, one hand stroking his hard length. “Christ, I’m gonna be hard all day thinking about last night.”

“I could take the edge off for you,” Harrison offered as he sat up. “You need to take a shower anyway, and if you happen to get a blow job while you’re there…” He tilted his head to one side. “If you can spare the time, that is.”

Jeremy licked his lips as he backed toward the door. “Harrison, baby, there isalwaystime for a blow job.”

Harrison laughed as he followed Jeremy into the bathroom.
