Chapter 5
A New Pack
Liora
"You need to report to the visiting room immediately." The beta in front of me lifted his rod like he thought I'd resist.
I nodded and obediently scurried away to the visiting room. It had been eight long months in the center and after three heat den experiences, I had agreed to try a new pack. It was time to meet them.
"Your pack is already here," the woman at the desk snapped. "Get in there now."
Bowing my head, I followed her directions to the specific room, a sort of living room setup with three sofas around the room and a simple coffee table. I kept my head down as Ientered, only flicking my eyes up to glance at the new pack from under my lashes.
There were four of them, all huge, built like they worked out in the gym constantly. Like they could pick me up and carry me around any way they liked.
Swallowing hard, I introduced myself and waited, hands clasped.
"You're exactly what we've been looking for," the man closest to me said. He grinned, white teeth flashing against his tanned skin. "Tiny. We've been in here twice looking for a small omega and they keep offering us these chunky girls."
He stood up and came closer, his acrid scent of rotting grass making my nose wrinkle. This was not the pack for me, but if I said no . . . I'd be stuck here for several more months. Was it worth it?
The others crowded around me, lifting strands of my hair and sniffing it, running their hands over my body. They talked about me over my head.
"We'll take her," the first man said, grabbing my hand in his and pulling me out toward the desk.
"Excellent. Liora, you accept this pack?"
"I . . ." I paused, reaching instinctively for the bond that had been so quiet the past few months. No, it wasn't worth it. They were happy with Andrea and I was here. It was time to make a new start of it. "I do."
The men signed the contract and the woman told us that there would be a check in a month to ensure we were all settled. "We don't recommend bites before that point," she warned.
"Got it," the first alpha, the one that stunk of rotten grass, said. He grabbed my hand again and then we were off, out the doors and into the fresh air. It was summer, with sun that warmed my skin.
I paused for a moment, tilting my face up to let the rays hit me, but the alpha tugged on my hand and I reluctantly followed him to a truck. They put me in the middle of the back bench seat, a huge alpha crowding into me on either side and we drove away from the center.
"What are your names?" I asked, timidly.
"I'm Mark," the first alpha said. He was driving, of course. He seemed to be the pack leader.
"Josh," the guy in the front passenger seat said. He turned to look at me and licked his lips. "I can't wait to get you home."
"Bronson." The alpha to my left grunted out his name without looking at me. His leg was pressed tightly against mine, since there was literally not enough room for all of us back here.
The last guy, to my right, was Rich. The four of them stunk up the enclosed truck cab. Alongside Mark's stench, Josh's scent was sickly sweet caramel, Bronson smelled like rancid milk, and Rich was putting off the odor of garlic and chives. Together it smelled like a compost pile in the space and I was desperate to open a window, but too afraid to ask.
It took over an hour to get to their home, a simple stucco cabin by a lake. It looked like it had once been a summer home, but was now a full-time house for these four.
"It's not much, but it's ours," Josh said, getting out of the truck.
I sucked in the fresh air, dreading going inside with them, but all too soon, we were headed into the house. It was dim inside, the bulbs not strong enough to keep it bright. The scent of mold and mildew tickled my nostrils as I followed the men through the living room and into what seemed to be the only other room in the house. It had obviously been two bedrooms at one point, but someone had knocked down the wall between the rooms. Two doors stood on one side of the room and there were different wallpapers on each half. One side was blue and whitestriped, though the white had long since gone yellow, and the other was a pink floral design.
The entire center of the room had been covered in multiple mattresses to make a makeshift bed that was completely bare. I could see stains on severeal of the mattresses and it made me shudder.
"This is your nest," Josh said proudly.
I nodded, not able to speak.
"Alright, let's get to business." Mark grabbed my shirt and peeled it over my head before I could say anything. Then Bronson was pulling my pants down and I was naked in seconds, shivering in front of all four men.
