“You’re welcome.”
“I suppose I should call Rufus.”
“You’re talking about the double date again, aren’t you?”
He chuckles. “Yes.”
“Good, good.” I put my laptop beside his and stroke his chest again. “You should tell him who you’re bringing on the date.”
“Why?”
“Uh, so he’s not caught off guard?”
“I think it would be funnier to just turn up together. After the stunt he played on us, it’s no less than he deserves.”
“Note to self, my boyfriend holds a grudge. Don’t get on his bad side.”
“You’re not still pissed at him?”
“No. Not really.” I tug his T-shirt up a little and stroke his bare skin. “If he hadn’t stranded us together, you’d never have asked me to suck your cock.”
“He’s going to expect us to thank him, isn’t he?”
“You’re so sexy when you talk in that grumpy, growly voice.”
He sighs. “Do you know how impossible it is to be grumpy around you?”
“It’s all the sunshine and rainbows I fart out of my butt. I’m a unicorn in disguise.”
“That’s disgusting.”
“Yeah, probably. Go back to imagining me with a dildo up my arse instead.”
He whimpers.
“If you want to surprise Rufus by turning up together, that’s okay with me. If you’re not ready to take our relationship outside into the wild, that’s okay too. I don’t mind being your secret boyfriend.”
“No. I won’t do that to you. I’m bi. I’m not ashamed of that. Not that there’s anything to be ashamed of.” He stutters over his words. It’s adorable. “And I’m definitely not ashamed of being with you.”
I wrap my arm around him so he doesn’t fall off the sofa while he stretches to grab his phone, which is on the coffee table. He calls Rufus’s number, puts the phone on speaker mode, and lays it on his chest.
“Hi, Jett,” Rufus says, his voice a little tinny through the speaker. “Have you changed your mind about going on a double date?”
I put my hand over my mouth to stifle a chuckle. Trust my brother.
“Yes,” Jett replies.
I expect an instant reply, but Rufus is quite for a few seconds.
“Seriously?”
“Yes,” Jett repeats.
“Who’s the lucky lady?”
Jett glances at me. “Actually, I’ll be coming with a guy.”
I smile and twirl my finger around his belly button. Okay, so maybe that’s distracting, but he’s so tense right now.
