“It would kill two birds with one stone.”

He grimaces. “I don’t think I like that analogy.”

“Sorry. But you know what I mean. I’d get to come out as bi, and we’d get to tell him we’re together at the same time.”

“You’re sure?”

I breathe in. “Yeah. I think so.”

“Sleep on it,” Kian whispers. “You don’t have to decide now while you’re upset.”

“I’m glad we’ve sorted things out.”

“Yeah, me too.”

“Kian.”

“If you’re going to tell me you don’t deserve me again, I might have to dump you.”

“Don’t worry. I wasn’t. I just wanted to tell you how much I adore you.”

“Yeah? Well, I adore you too.”

“I can’t look at this for a second longer.” I shut my laptop and rub my hands over my face. “How’s your work going?”

We’re sitting on either end of the sofa in Jett’s apartment, knees raised, feet touching. I’ve been working on ideas for my research project while he’s coding. I’m swooning over how couply we’re being.

“Fine. I can take a break.” He lowers the lid of his laptop. “Did you get your proposal done?”

“Ugh, no. But I’ve narrowed down my ideas.”

“Isn’t it due in a couple of days?”

“Kinda.” I lean my laptop against the side of the sofa, stretch my arms out, and curve my back over the sofa arm. “I’m hoping my tutor can help me decide what to do.”

“Can I help?”

“Do you know anything about birds?”

He shakes his head.

“Deer?”

“Nope.”

“Orchids?”

He frowns. “We have orchids in the UK?”

“Yes. But my point is, there are so many things I could research that I can’t narrow it down to just one thing.” I sigh. “But I have to. Am I whining? I think I might be whining.”

“A little. But your whining is cute, so I’ll let you get away with it.”

“You say the nicest things.” I wrap my arms around my legs and rest my chin on my knees. “I’m glad things are okay between us. I hated fighting.”
