“I hope so.” Jae twirled his fingertip over my knee. “Where do you see us in six months?”

“In our new apartment, with a walk-in wardrobe.”

Jae laughed loudly.

“It’ll be March, won’t it?” I asked.

Jae nodded.

“We might be in Paris then. Scratch that. We will be in Paris. For fashion week,” I added.

“You know when Paris Fashion Week is?”

“Uh, yeah.” I dropped my voice to a whisper. “I looked it up. There are two, one in March and one in October. Oh, and there’s an haute couture week in July. You’ll be walking the catwalk in all three. But we’re only going six months ahead. So you’ll have done Copenhagen, New York, London, and Milan, and we’ll be jetting off to Paris.”

“We won’t be spending much time in our new apartment.”

I shrugged. “Probably not. Your turn. Where do you see us a year from now?”

Jae pursed his lips and hummed. “Happy.”

“That goes without saying.”

“You said it.”

“Is that all you see?” I asked.

He lifted his left hand and stared at it. “I think I’ll have a ring on my finger.”

“You do? Which finger?”

He elbowed me in the ribs. “You know which.”

I ran my fingertip down his ring finger. “You want to get married someday?”

“Yes.” I felt his shoulders tense. “Do you?”

“Yes.”

He blew out a breath and relaxed.

“What will your engagement ring look like?”

Jae shrugged. “I don’t know. The only thing I know for sure is that it will be perfect because you’ll have chosen it.”

“It’ll need to be something classy.”

“Of course.”

“I might have to take Dillon ring shopping with me. What about in two years? Where do you see us?”

“Married.”

“We’re not going to have a long engagement, then?”

“Not in this game.”

I hugged him tightly. “This is just a game?”
