He huffed a sigh. “Fine. We can get dressed first.” He pushed me away by patting my towel-covered arse. “I’ll see you upstairs in a few minutes.”
I turned, expecting to see him heading out the door so he could go to his room and get dressed.
I laughed. “You’re not moving.”
“Jae.”
I lifted a brow.
“I’m glad you kissed me last night. I’m not sure I’d have stepped over that line, even though I wanted to. Thank you for making the first move.”
I reached out and brushed the tips of my fingers over his knuckles. “I’m glad I kissed you too.”
CHAPTERTWELVE
XANDER
I thanked the delivery driver and used the lift to return to my apartment. From the marbled grey packaging and elegant logo, I could tell who the parcel was from. Jae’s name being on it rather than mine was another giveaway.
I practically danced up the stairs into the living area where Jae played on my games console. He’d been trying to beat me on a racing game for three days. It was funny and sweet. I’d offered to let him win, but he’d refused.
It had been an amazing few days since we’d first kissed. Aside from playing console games, we’d spent a lot of time kissing and cuddling. I’d taken him out to dinner as promised, and we’d explored London a bit more, mainly the parks and outdoor spaces. We’d showered together after each of my morning live streams. Everything was fun and relaxed, and I enjoyed every second.
Jae had another open call the next day, so Maddison’s parcel had arrived just in time.
“Delivery for you, sir,” I said in a fake posh accent.
Jae paused the game and put the controller down. “Is it…?”
“It is.”
He clapped his hands together and bounced on the sofa until I joined him. “I’m so nervous. Do you think it turned out okay?”
I put my hand on his nape and kissed him. “Your portfolio will look amazing. Do you know why?”
Pink illuminated his cheeks.
“Because you’re stunning.”
“Nothing to do with Maddison being a good photographer?”
“Maddison is a great photographer, which is why this portfolio will be better than your old one. It wasn’t the subject that was at fault. It was the charlatan who ripped you off.”
“I know.”
I put the flat box on Jae’s knees. “Open it.”
He carefully undid the tape and lifted the lid off. There was a postcard with Maddison’s logo on the top.
Jae picked it up and turned it over before reading the message from Maddison. “Good luck, sweetie. You’ve got supermodel potential. I just know it.” His blush deepened.
He set the postcard aside and peeled back the dove-grey tissue paper. There were two batches of comp cards wrapped in thick paper to protect them from the rubber bands holding them together. Jae carefully pulled one free. His eyes became shiny as he flipped it from side to side. He let out a strangled noise.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. It’s just…”
“Gorgeous?”
