“Of course.” I start to move so he can get up, but he pulls me back.
“He’s at work.”
“Oh, yes, of course.”
“I’ll tell him when he gets home. I’d rather do it face to face than over the phone or text.” He kisses my hair. “Do you have anything pressing to do today?”
“Nope.”
“No deadlines?”
“No. I’m between jobs. The joys of being a freelancer. I get to set my own hours and work around my narcolepsy, but I don’t always have work.”
“It must make budgeting hard.”
I shrug. “I make sure I put money into savings every time I have a job in case I have a long dry spell. I manage.”
“If you ever need help, just ask.”
“Thanks. That’s good to know.”
Stefan taps his finger against my shoulder. “Do you remember you asked if you could draw me naked?”
I suck in a breath. “Yes.”
“I’d like you to.”
“Really? I didn’t think you wanted me to.”
Stefan cups my face and stares into my eyes. “I thought it would be strange to see a drawing like that.”
“A sexy drawing of yourself?”
“Yes. But I love you, and I trust you, and I like seeing myself through your eyes. So I’d like you to draw me.”
I lift my eyebrows. “Now?”
He nods. “If you want to.”
“I do!” I smush my lips to his for a lingering kiss. “Thank you.”
I hug him tight for at least two minutes and then get out of bed to get a sketchpad, some pencils, and a rubber. I yank the covers off Stefan, so I can see his beautiful body, and then perch on my stool.
“Are you going to draw me like that?” Stefan asks, flicking his gaze up and down me.
I look at myself. I’m naked, just like him. “Sure. Why not?”
Stefan smirks. “Well, I won’t get bored staring at you.”
My cheeks heat, and my head gets heavy. My chin lolls against my chest.
“Sorry.”
“Don’t be.” My words merge together. “I like it when you say stuff like that.”
“When I tell you how gorgeous you are?”
I manage to nod. I tap my pencil against the sketchpad in frustration.
