“I’ll take it to get framed,” I say.

“Let me guess. You know a place?” Quinn slurs.

I laugh. “I do.” I kiss his forehead and hold him until he jerks fully awake again.

I lead him to the bed, where we slowly and tenderly undress each other. Naked, we snuggle beneath the covers, legs tangled, as we stroke each other’s faces.

“Quinn, you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

“Same.”

“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to you?”

Quinn snort-laughs. “Arse,” he slurs.

I kiss him softly. “I knew what you meant.” I rest my head on my arm so I can gaze at him more easily. “I can’t imagine my life without you.”

“Nor can I.”

I open my mouth. Quinn narrows his eyes. I laugh loudly.

“I know what you were going to say,” he says in an accusing tone.

“Me?” I give him wide, innocent eyes.

“Yes, you.” He grazes his fingers over my stubble. “You don’t have to imagine your life without me. You’re stuck with me.” He wriggles his fingers so his engagement ring catches the light.

I catch hold of his hand and press his fingertips to my lips. “And you’re stuck with me. Now.” I kiss his palm. “Always.” And his lips. “And forever.”

“That’s crazy romantic.”

“I mean it.”

Quinn smiles. “I know you do.” His eyelids droop. “So—"

I press my lips to his. “No apologies. Sleep, my love. I’ll be here when you wake up.”

“I know you will be.” His eyes drift shut. “You always are. It’s one of many things I love about you.” His words fade to the barest of whispers as he relaxes into sleep.

I hold him close, feeling the beat of his heart against mine as exhaustion sweeps over me.

“Quinn.”

He murmurs but doesn’t stir.

“I will always be your pillow.”

BONUS SCENE

RORY

I’m feeling awful after Beau and Fraser’s wedding, and someone thumping on the front door isn’t helping. It’ll teach me to get drunk. It didn’t help that Preston had hired a minibus taxi to drive us all home after the evening do was over. It meant none of us had to be responsible adults. It made a change to be on the customer side of the bar rather than behind it.
