It’s my turn next. “Never have I ever hitchhiked.”

Rory drinks. “I did it a few times back in Ireland. I don’t think I’d risk it around here.”

Fraser taps the side of his glass. “Never have I ever slept with a woman.”

Rubin lifts his glass in acheersgesture and then drinks. Hendrix stares at my stepbrother, eyebrow raised, but says nothing.

“My turn,” Theo says enthusiastically. “Never have I ever slept with someone I didn’t know the name of.”

Hendrix snorts and takes a large gulp of his drink. Rubin and Fraser drink as well.

“I’ve hooked up with people at nightclubs,” Preston says. “But I always ask for their name before getting sexy.”

“Why?” Hendrix asks. “Anonymous sex can be fun.”

“Maybe I’m just too polite.”

Theo leans his head on Preston’s shoulder. “You are very polite.”

“Excuse me while I puke,” Hendrix complains.

Preston shakes his head. “You’re just jealous.”

Hendrix pouts. “Your turn.”

Preston smiles fondly at Theo. “Never have I ever said ‘I love you’ when I didn’t mean it.”

Theo blushes and hides his face against Preston’s arm.

“Are we talking about saying it to partners or platonically to friends and family?” Hendrix asks.

Preston shrugs. “Either, I guess.”

Hendrix drinks. For some reason, that makes my chest squeeze tight.

“Never have I ever fallen in love,” Rory says.

Fraser, Theo, Preston, and I all drink.

“Stefan?” Rubin asks.

My cheeks heat as I nod.

“Congrats.”

My stomach flutters. It’s a happy sensation that’s tempered by the sudden heaviness of my head. Hendrix nibbles some salted peanuts until my head jerks up.

“Never have I ever peed in the shower,” he says.

“That’s gross,” Theo mumbles.

“Have you?”

“No.”

Hendrix scrutinises us as if he doesn’t believe that none of us has had a drink.

“Never have I ever cheated on someone,” Rubin says.
