“I’m sorry.” There’s a story there, but the way he hunches his shoulders tells me it’s not the time to ask. “It sounds like you’ve got a lot on.”
“Yeah. Which is why I let my brothers talk me into coming here tonight. Lexi’s having a sleepover at our parents’ house,” he adds hurriedly.
“Lexi’s a cute name.”
“Cute name for a cute kid.” He smiles again, but this time it’s wistful.
There’s a sad beauty about him. I don’t think I was wrong when I said he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. It must be tough, starting a new career and looking after a five-year-old. I’m glad his family is supportive.
“I might be wrong, but it seems like you haven’t given yourself permission to relax.”
His mouth hooks up little. “You’re probably right.” He lifts his arm and stares at the black wristband. “I guess I should add a loop or two and put myself out there.” He drops his hand onto his lap.
“If you do, let me know.”
He turns his head and looks me dead in the eyes. “You’d fuck me, Spencer?”
“Call me Spence.”
“Is that a yes or a no?”
I lower my voice to a deeper, huskier tone. “It’s a yes.”
He looks at the ceiling, brows pinched together, before standing. “Screw it.”
I stay where I am, watching as he strides over to the trellis tables that has food, drinks, and small bowls with coloured loops in them. He takes his wristband off and adds a green loop to it. Then he comes back to me, a desperate fire in his eyes.
“Will you fuck me, Spence? Will you help me relax and let go?”
I grin and take his hand as I stand. “Gladly.”

I’m not sure why I change my mind about getting laid. It’s not even as if Spence was coming on to me. He was just being…nice. But I really, really need to let go. I’ve got so much stress bottled up inside. I need to let it out before I explode.
Archie, Blake, and I were told about all four rooms at the party. As Blake put it, there’s a room for talking, one for talking and playing, one just for playing, and one just for fucking. Well, penetrative play and fucking, but I’m only interested in the latter right now. Spence leads me into the last room. He’s right. It’s much darker than the relaxed lounge area. I’m hit by a chorus of moans and flesh slapping against flesh. The air reeks of sex. There are guys making out, others playing with dildos and vibrators, others fucking, and a few watching. I shiver and put the brakes on. Spence looks at me.
“It’s okay to change your mind,” he whispers.
“I’ve never…” I clear my throat as heat flushes my neck and face. Someone shoots me an annoyed look, letting me know the noise I just made was definitely too loud and nowhere near sexy enough for a hall pass. I lower my voice. “Sex isn’t allowed in kink clubs.”
This is like being in an interactive porn movie or something, except I’m not surrounded by recordings of actors. These are real guys enjoying themselves while people watch. There are two couples watching each other as they fuck.
“Do you want to go back into the lounge?” Spence asks. “It’s okay if you do.”
Do I? I wish there was somewhere private we could go. We’re in a house. There must be bedrooms somewhere. I remember all the doors into the rest of the house are firmly closed, and the bouncers we passed on the way up will probably have a problem if anyone tries to sneak into any of the bedrooms for private playtime. I could suggest we leave the party and go somewhere else, but I doubt he’d be up for it. Besides, there’s an odd kind of safety in staying where we are. No one’s going to try anything when they’re surrounded by other people.
“I’ve never watched other people have sex before,” I admit. “Other than on porn sites.”
Spence cracks a smile. “Do you like it?”
I shrug. It’s too early to say. Right now, I’m overwhelmed by it all.
“We could sit and watch for a while. Or you could let me distract you.”
“Distract me?”
