He nods. “I don’t want you to think that Idon’twant to live with you someday. Or that looking for a new home for Lexi and me means I don’t want to be with you.”
I stroke his hair. “I don’t think that.”
“It’s just that…” He dips his gaze.
“It’s not the right time?” I ask.
He nods. “If it was just me…”
“But it’s not, and I understand that. You need to put Lexi first, and I need to get to know her better.”
Corey smiles. “Thank you for understanding, Daddy.”
I kiss his forehead. “For the record, I’ve been thinking the same thing all day. I can see all three of us living together, just not right now. Could we talk about our living arrangements again in a few months when you’re approaching the end of your six-month lease?”
“I’d love that.” He clasps his hands at the back of my neck and sits up enough to kiss me fiercely. “I love you, Daddy.”
I chuckle against his lips. “You just said that.”
“Did I?”
“Uh-huh.”
“I think I need to say it again.”
“You do?”
“Yeah… to make sure you believe me. I love you, Daddy.”
“I love you too, sweet boy.”
I put my arm around his back, supporting him so he can more easily stay semi-upright, and we can continue kissing and trading ‘I love yous’. We’re being soppy, and I adore it.
“How bothered are you about seeing the end of the film?” I ask.
“Not bothered at all. Did you have something else in mind?”
“I want to take you to bed and make love to you.”
Corey grins. “That sounds nice, Daddy. Blindfolded?”
“However you like. Tell me what you want.”
“I want you to cuddle me while we make love, Daddy,” Corey whispers.
“I can do that. Are you sure you want to wear a blindfold?”
“I can be swayed on that.”
I kiss his nose. “Good, because I’d like to lie side by side, facing one another, so I can stare into your eyes.”
“That sounds amazing, Daddy.”
I coax him to his feet, stand, and take his hand. “Let’s go to bed, sweet boy. We’re going to make love slowly and hold each other all night long.”
