Lexi and I are the only ones up for breakfast the next morning, although that’s nothing new recently. Blake never shows his face this early unless he has a photoshoot or casting call to go to, and Archie has been sleeping over at Hamish’s more nights than not. I keep telling myself I have to get used to Archie not being around anymore. It won’t be long before he moves in with Hamish. He’s decided to get a different job, even though he loves working for Hamish. I think he’s doing the right thing.Ifthey broke up, it would get really messy if Archie was working for himandliving with him. Until Archie has a new job, our house is still officially his home, although I doubt we’ll be seeing much of him.

“Are you okay, Daddy?” Lexi asks as she eats her breakfast cereal.

“Yes. Just thinking about Archie.”

“I’m going to miss Uncle Archie.”

“Me too, pudding. But he’ll come and visit.”

“Lots?”

I smile at her. “Lots and lots.”

Her expression brightens.

“And we’ll still be living with Blake.”

“Yay!” She grins around another spoonful of cereal.

I stir my own cereal around in the milk. “Lexi, you like sleepovers, don’t you?”

“They’re the best.” She gasps. “Am I having a sleepover?”

“No…”

She pouts.

“I was wondering if you’d mind if Spence had a sleepover here.”

She narrows her eyes. “Why?”

I’m not sure how to answer that. Lexi is five. I haven’t even thought about talking to her about sex yet.

“Do you know how Archie likes sleeping over at Hamish’s?”

She nods.

“And Blake likes to have sleepovers at Gabe’s or Calvin’s?”

“Yes…”

“It would be nice if Spence could have a sleepover here so we can spend more time with him.”

She keeps pouting, her stare fixed on her cereal. “Where would he sleep?”

“In my room.”

“Why?”

“Your friends sleep in your room when they sleep over,” I point out.

She seems to mull that over. “They sleep on the floor. Will Spence sleep on the floor?”

I hitch in a breath. “No, he’d sleep in my bed. With me.”

“Why?”
