Jared laughed. “I’m starting to figure that out.”
Kyrone stared into Jared’s eyes. “On that note, would you like to go on a date with me on Sunday?”
“On a date?” Jared hadn’t been expecting that.
“Ink Envy is closed on Sundays, isn’t it?”
Jared nodded.
“So is Heaven and Hell, which means we could spend the whole dayandthe whole night together if we wanted to.”
“Does that mean we’re past a one-night stand?” Jared asked cautiously. Unexpectedly, he was hopeful that they were.
Kyrone chuckled. “I think we went past that last night, don’t you?” He lowered his hands to Jared’s bare knees. “I really like you, Jared. I’d like to see if there could be more between us than sex.”
“But there can still be sex, right?” Jared asked in a jokey tone.
“Definitely.” Kyrone leant in to kiss Jared’s jaw. “Hot…” He brushed his lips over Jared’s throat. “Noisy…” Then nipped at Jared’s earlobe. “Rough…” His mouth claimed Jared’s again for a few passionately demanding seconds. “Sex.”
Jared’s body quivered from the kiss and the thought of spending more time with Kyrone, getting to know him. It made him feel happy and warm inside. “I’d really like to go on a date with you on Sunday.”
“Just ‘like’?” Kyrone asked.
A silly grin spread across Jared’s lips, making his cheeks ache. “I’d love to.”
“That’s more like it,” Kyrone whispered before kissing him again. “Your clothes will take a bit longer to finish washing and dry, and as you so rightly pointed out earlier, you can’t leave when you’re wearing nothing but a jumper. Which means we have a few hours with nothing to do but stay inside.” He grinned wickedly. “Scrabble?”
Jared burst out laughing. That wasn’t what he’d been expecting to hear, but it sounded like a great way to spend an afternoon.
9Kyrone
They met in town, on one of the busiest streets, which had been turned into a pedestrian zone. Even though it was a Sunday, there were plenty of shoppers, which was perfect for Kyrone’s plan. Neither of them was dressed up. Kyrone had texted Jared to tell him to turn up in casual clothing. Despite that, the sight of Jared still took Kyrone’s breath away and made his heart stutter in his chest. Jared made beautiful seem effortless. He was wearing jeans, a khaki green anorak, and the same chunky mid-calf boots he’d worn to The Vibe that first night.
Smiling, Kyrone rested his hand on the back of Jared’s head, feeling his soft blond hair beneath his fingertips. As they kissed, Jared’s hands came to rest on Kyrone’s hips.
“Hi,” Kyrone said.
“I think you’re meant to say thatbeforekissing me.”
“Really?” Kyrone asked innocently. “Are you sure?”
Jared replied with an exaggerated shrug. “Pretty sure, but I’ll let you off.” He brushed his fingers over Kyrone’s hand. “I like kissing you.”
“Oh, really?”
Jared nodded.
“Good thing I like kissing you too.”
He kissed Jared again, this time in a way that probably wasn’t suitable for public viewing, but he didn’t care. He couldn’t get enough of Jared as he caressed his back and explored his mouth with his tongue. When they broke free of each other, Jared gave him a naughty grin.
“Unless your idea of a date is finding somewhere to have sex, we should probably stop doing that.”
“As tempting as that is, I have a different idea.”
“Oh?”
Kyrone indicated the passing shoppers. “We’re going to play spies.”
