“What was that about?” Ghost whispers quietly beside me.
I look up at him and give him a small smile. “Nothing.”
His eyes search mine. “We will talk later,” he states.
I will have to distract him by sucking his dick later.
“Okay, everyone out!” Queenie orders, ushering us out of the kitchen area. “I can’t cook with everyone in my kitchen,” she orders, whipping her towel at us.
“You sure you’re up to cooking?” I ask her quietly as the rest of the group make their way over to the open-plan living area. Queenie glares at me. Well, it’s more of an‘if you don’t get out now, I will gut you and serve you for dinner’look. I hold up my hands in surrender. “Okay, okay. I’m going. Calm your tits.” I wince as soon as the words leave my mouth. “Shit, sorry. I didn’t mean to refer to your breasts. I mean, with the, you know, and the... I just, fuck. Shit, I’m sorry,” I ramble, covering my face.
“Star,” Queenie sighs.
“Yeah?”
“Fuck off out of my kitchen,” she says softly, a smile playing on her lips.
I grin. “Gotcha.” I pull her into a hug. “We need, like, a code word, in case you aren’t feeling well,” I whisper while hugging her.
“How about I just don’t feel fucking well?” she quips.
I snort as I lean back to look at her. “The cancer is giving you a potty mouth,” I tease.
Queenie fights a grin and gives me a shove. “Shoo!”
I laugh and walk over to everyone else, feeling Ghost’s eyes watching me like a hawk. God damn that man and those fucking eyes.
CHAPTER NINE
GHOST
CHRISTMAS EVE
“Doesit really require all of us brothers to go out and get the Christmas tree and decorations?” Spider sighs from the passenger seat as I drive.
“You’d rather be ice skating right now?” I retort.
“I’d rather be in the hot tub with my woman,” he sighs.
“No fucking in the hot tub. The kids go in there,” I order.
“Fuck, man, you guys just suck the fun out of being an adult.”
“If you had kids, you would get it,” I point out.
“Fuck, brother, after how Nova and I grew up, having kids is the worst thing we could fucking do.” He scoffs.
“That’s your choice, brother.” I nod. “But just know that if any of us die, you get the kids.”
He looks at me, stunned. I smirk.
“And you also get Erebus. Don’t worry. Dixie has written out a manual on how to look after him,” Rage adds, leaning forward between the front two seats.
Spider throws his hands up in the air. “What the fuck? So you’re all giving me your kids if you die?”
“Dog. Erebus is a dog,” Rage corrects.
I laugh. “What can I say, brother? We all know you ain’t got any kids. So it makes sense.”
