His eyebrows shot up, and she thought he was going to say something, but he kept his mouth closed. She stepped back and let her eyes rove over his body. He was an impressive man. His shoulders were broad, and he was a little taller than her. She’d been with guys who were shorter, and it didn’t really matter to her. Not much about looks mattered to her. It was more important that the guy was a good person, not cruel, kind, and not a jerk. She didn’t know this man well, but what she knew from the few minutes they’d been together this morning she liked.
“So if I say yes for today, could I change my mind?”
He nodded. “If you want to stop at any time, I’ll stop.”
She took a few steps closer to him. He exuded strength and power. She bet he would be amazing in the bedroom. He’d mentioned eating her out, which made gooseflesh pop out on her shoulders. She licked her lips, lust already filling her head, making it hard to think. “This evening?”
“I don’t want to draw unnecessary attention to you. What time do you go to bed usually?”
“Eleven.”
His lips curved up into a sexy smile. “I’ll sneak over a little after nine.”
“That sounds good.”
He took note of his surroundings, remembering how toget back to her place before he closed the distance so he was only about six inches from her. He reached up and ran his fingers over the curve of her cheek. “I have a few condoms, not a box.”
Laughter bubbled up. “If you can use more than three condoms in a week, I’ll be impressed.”
He leaned in, his lips close to her ear. “Honey, I can go through two condoms each evening.”
Her heart jumped. “Oh my, I’ve never—oh, you don’t want to hear what I have to say about other guys.”
He grunted. “Not really, but I won’t mind if you tell me later how good I am.”
Laughter bubbled up. She wasn’t one to giggle, but this man might just have her acting like a teenager hopped up on hormones.
His lips tipped up in the corners. “I’m looking forward to tonight.”
Their lips were very close and for a moment she thought they were going to kiss. Then the sound of people laughing filtered through the trees and he took a step back.
“Sounds like my friends are headed this way,” he said.
She wished he hadn’t stepped away, but she appreciated him watching out for her. Sure enough, a few seconds later his friends stepped into the small clearing.
“Hey, there you are,” Sharp said.
Danika waved to El then turned to him. “We were getting worried about you.”
Griz shrugged. “I guess I took a long time. Just needed to get some exercise in. I probably went on too long.”
“We’re used to it,” Jay said.
Elowen watched them interact, being kind to each other, laughing as they joked. She liked these people. There weren’t many people she liked. Usually people were out totake advantage of each other, at least they had in the circles she ran in.
“This is El,” Griz said. “I guess the women met her yesterday.”
“Nice to meet you.” The man with his arm around Danika spoke first. “I’m Sharp. We have Jay, Shine, Squat, and Apple.” All the men waved at her as he introduced them. “You’ve already met Griz. He’s big and looks a little grizzly, but he’s really nice.”
Elowen’s face heated as thoughts of what they would do tonight filled her mind. “It’s nice to meet you all. I’m going to head back to my cabin. Have a good time this week.”
“Bye,” Danika called and all the other women said bye and she turned to wave at them before heading to her cabin.
If she was going to entertain Griz tonight, she needed to clean a few things and shower. It had been a long time since she’d shaved her legs, much less trimmed anything up. Heck, she hadn’t taken a razor to her underarms in a few weeks. It wasn’t that she didn’t shower or take care of herself, she just didn’t see the need to always keep up with removing hair from her body, but if she was going to be with a man, she wanted to at least pretend she could be presentable.
Excitement slid through her. A man who wasn’t just some local jerk wanted her. It had been a while since she’d had an interesting partner. And Griz looked to be a very interesting partner.
