I gasped and smacked his chest, half-laughing, half-embarrassed. “Shut up!”

He grinned against the side of my face, his beard brushing my cheek. “Nah, lemme hit that shit again.”

“You play too much,” I mumbled against his chest, giggling even as I held him tighter.

“Nah,” he said, kissing my temple, “I’m deadass.”

And with steam curling against the glass, water already running, and his body pressed close to mine, I didn’t care about anything else. Not the fear. Not the timing. Not even the fact that we still had so much more to figure out. All I cared about was him. Us. Right here. In this moment. Together.

T h el o u da s sbuzz from my phone had my eyes cracking open. Sunlight coming through the damn curtains, lighting up the room like we hadn’t just been up most of the night.

My arm was damn near numb from how tight Autumn was laid up on me. She was tucked in real close with a leg thrown over mine, one hand resting on my stomach, lips slightly parted like she was deep in a dream. Shit, she looked too damn peaceful.

My phone buzzed again, and I reached over with my free hand, grabbed it off the nightstand, and answered. “Yeah.”

“Good morning, uh, Mr. Thevlin?” Some extra perky voice chirped through the phone. “This is Jennie with Cabin Dreams.I’m just calling to confirm the final details for your Christmas rental.”

I sat up a little, keeping Autumn’s body where it was. I wasn’t trying to wake her. “Go ‘head. I’m listenin’.”

“Okay, so you requested a luxury winter-style cabin with a private road and an enclosed hot tub on the back deck?”

“That’s right.”

“And a tree already decorated in deep red, gold, and white?”

“Exactly how I asked for it.”

“Got it! And you’re still checking in today?”

“That’s the plan,” I said, rubbing my hand down my face and glancing at Autumn’s bare shoulder again. She was glowing even in her sleep.

“Perfect. You’ll get the digital entry code sent to your email shortly. Is there anything else you’d like, Mr. Thevlin?”

I paused, thinking. “Yeah. Make sure the fireplace is lit when we pull up. I want the vibe already set.”

“Done. Happy Holidays!”

“‘Ppreciate you.” I dropped the phone to my chest, just in time to hear her voice cut through the quiet—low, raspy, and sexy as hell from sleep.

“What are you planning?”

I looked down to see Autumn blinking up at me, face puffy from sleep, lips swollen from all that kissing and moaning she did last night. I smirked. “You eavesdroppin’ now?”

“I got ears, Woods. You weren’t exactly whispering.”

I leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Just settin’ us up somewhere peaceful for Christmas.”

She stretched beside me, making the sheets fall from her body, giving me a flash of those titties that had me losing my mind last night. “Where?”

“Cabin up in Arbor Ridge,” I said.

She blinked at me, still halfway in dreamland. “You’re serious?”

“Already booked. Tree, fireplace, hot tub, real cozy. You need to put that time in at work.”

“I don’t know if I can get all that time off.”

“You will.”
