Whoa. That line of thought doesn’t belong here. I’m over that. It was years ago.
I clear my throat and push up from the seat, looking around until Spence joins me.
“Ready?” He asks, but he studies me a little too long. “You okay?”
“Um, yeah. The schnapps kind of went to my head.”
He nods, but it’s almost as if he saw through my lame excuse. Finally he grins. “Lightweight. Need me to carry you? I know some special SEAL-approved carrying techniques.”
“Oh Lord,” I groan. “That sounds like it could hurt.”
He grins slowly. “Not you, sweetheart. You get special treatment.”
Before I can even blink, he’s scooped me up using one—ONE—of his arms without even making a distressed sound.
“Okaayyyy,” I laugh. “Where to next?”
“Have you seen the pool?”
“Nope.”
Truthfully, he could have said he was carrying me to the cleaning supply closet, and I would have been excited to get a lift. Because those muscles I saw once when we were with the team…
They’re real.
Hot. Hard. And pressed all against me.
My throat is bone-dry. But another place is definitely not dry. Nope, the basement is flooded right now.
Spence knocks open a door, and I gasp. “Whoa…”
CHAPTER 10
Liberty in my arms — and it is by far the biggest tactical error of the night.
What the hell was I thinking?
Your dick was doing the thinking, a voice echoes inside my head.
Unable to say a word, I lower her feet to the ground, instantly missing the weight of her in my arms.
“This is incredible,” she says excitedly as she breezes into the gigantic underground waterpark.
But all I can think is how right and wrong this situation is.
Walking away from me, Liberty is smiling, holding her hands up in the air.
“Wow, it’s huge.”
Yep, my dick is about to bust a seam in my jeans.
The woman is not talking about that. Has barely even glanced at my body below my neck, thankfully. Hopefully that means she hasn’t noticed the semi I’ve been sporting for the last ten minutes.
She’s awestruck by the cavernous pool level of the resort.
It’s impressive. But I have eyes only for her.
I couldn't care less about the natural rock formations surround heated water that gleams under recessed lighting.
