“It means we’re gonna deal with him later.” Seymour shrugged. “That’s all.”
“That sounds very unwise.”
“I think it sounds like what an Aries would do.” Seymour cracked a grin, thumbing along Sariel’s jaw. “Guy I got a thing for is in a bad spot, so I wanna help him out.”
“Who is the guy?” Sariel’s lashes fluttered. “Wait, am I the guy?”
“Yes. You’re the guy.”
“And the thing?”
“I like you.”
Sariel’s cheeks pinked up, but he looked away. “We should go.”
Seymour frowned, protesting, “Yeah, but we’re still gonna talk about this. I don’t care about Mr. Heiss?—”
“Has your erection subsided?”
“It would subside a lot faster if we finished what the fuck we started up on the wall,” Seymour retorted.
“I do not believe that to be true.”
“Whatever.”
Sariel headed to the door.
Seymour caught his hand. “Hey, wait just one sec, okay?”
“What is it?” Sariel turned to peer curiously at him.
“I do really like you.” Seymour smiled warmly. “And while goin’ to some crazy ass faerie circus and fightin’ Godzilla and all that isn’t exactly what I had in mind for today, I’m real glad I did it with you.”
Sariel’s face shifted into a darker shade of pink. “I…”
“Still really hot when you get bossy.” Seymour winked. “Daddy.”
Sariel let out an odd squeak, promptly fleeing out of the bathroom as fast as he could.
Seymour grinned.
He did wonder where Sariel’s earlier confidence had evaporated off to, but he had a pretty good feeling that he could help him coax it back.
Just not inside a bathroom.
Seymour got in line at the counter, glancing around to see where Sariel and Day were.
Sariel was on his way back up the stairs, likely to their table. He glanced over his shoulder at Seymour, smiled sweetly, and then flushed when he realized Seymour was looking at him too.
Seymour grinned.
Sariel whirled around to finish his dash up the stairs, and Seymour thought he spotted a brief glimmer of a halo.
Maybe he’d imagined it.
Now where was Day?
“Meow!”
