And mature young men could wear fancy cologne and smell warm and spicy.
He hoped Alistair liked it.
After spraying a few puffs to walk through, Noah was all done.
He walked back into his bedroom to find Crybaby still solo, and he asked, “Junior still hiding somewhere in a dark hole?”
“He’s fine,” Crybaby drawled. “I’ll be sure to tell him you were asking about him. He’ll be touched.”
“Is Alistair still here?”
“He’s gone.”
“Wait, what?” Noah snorted. “He already took a shower, got dressed, and left? No way.”
“Not everybody takes twenty minutes to style their hair, Princess.” Crybaby smirked. “Don’t worry. He’ll be back.”
“Where did he go?”
“Out.”
“Out to do what?” Noah pressed.
“If he wanted you to know, he woulda told you.” Crybaby tilted her head. “Don’t think just ’cause you two are getting cute that I’m going to tell you anything.”
“Getting cute, huh? Is that what we’re doing?”
“I don’t know what you’re doing. It’s none of my business.”
“So, if I ask you something, you’re not gonna tell me, huh?”
“Extremely unlikely.”
Fuck it. The worst thing she could say was no.
“There’s this guy he mentioned. Some boy that fucked him up a long time ago, said he left him. You know who that is?”
Crybaby’s concerned expression indicated she did.
“Well?”
“You’ll have to ask Mr. Star.”
“You’re real fuckin’ helpful.”
“Don’t you have a party to get to? Come on. Your guests are waking up.”
“Oh, goody.”
The pool was crowded with a bunch of those so-called guests, and the bar was already serving alcohol despite the early hour. Noah noticed Erasmus hovering a few feet away, those unblinking eyeballs of his watching the bartender like a hawk. Junior was stretched out in one of the lawn chairs holding his head.
Noah didn’t see any sign of Medina or Landon, and he was totally fine with that. He assumed Mace was with Alistair, but he wasn’t sure.
He plopped down in the chair next to Junior, loudly scooting the metal legs across the concrete.
“I will fuckin’ shoot you in the fuckin’ balls,” Junior warned without moving his hands.
“Aww, come on.” Noah grinned. “After everything we’ve been through?”
