“I love you, too,” Frankie said, leaning down to kiss Snod’s brow. “Now sleep... tomorrow is the

first day of the rest of your life as a vampire.”

Even moments from passing out, Snod couldn’t resist a smug little smirk curling up his lips.

Don’t you mean ‘night’?

“Whatever.”

Chapter Twenty-Five

Nearly a hundred nights passed before Snod finally understood why Frankie wanted to be human

again.

Rees’ funeral was a simple but intimate affair. They made special arrangements to have the burial in

the evening for Snod to be able to attend.

Dwayne and Mandy were there from the bar, Lorenzo and Athaliah as well. Amy came to be

valuables he had stolen, and Ephraim used the money from selling them to relocate everyone. He

returned to see Amy a few times a month when he wasn’t helping them get settled.

They were all getting new lives, a fresh start.

Ephraim told him that there were still a few hunters that refused to give up their old lives, but he

wouldn’t be joining them. He was going to retire, hang up his stakes, and he was proud to announce

that he had a date with Amy coming up soon.

Frankie received quite the surprise when Rees’ will was finally read. He had left everything to
