Snod nodded, taking Frankie’s hands in his own, sighing quietly, “Yes.”
A few more weeks and Snod knew he would have to leave, his heart aching uncomfortably.
“What’s wrong?” Frankie asked gently, seeming to sense his distress, giving Snod’s hands a little
squeeze.
“I want to enjoy every moment I have with you,” Snod replied honestly.
“There are other ways to spend time together, Obe,” Frankie teased, kissing his cheek. “Now, I know
this is usually when you’re getting up? But I think it’s time for you to crash.”
Snod laughed, surprised to see that it was getting close to four o’clock in the morning. He accepted
defeat, giving Frankie a farewell kiss as he retreated to his bedroom.
“Hey! Obe!”
“What?” Snod glanced over his shoulder.
“I’m really proud of you,” Frankie said, his fangs flashing in a big smile.
Snod felt heat creeping up his neck, swallowing hard. “For what?”
“For all of your firsts,” Frankie replied warmly, “and all the other ones you’re gonna have in the
future. Goodnight, Obe!”
“Goodnight, Frankie,” Snod replied, offering a little smile as he shut the door. He stripped off his
clothes, quickly handling the sinful erection that was plaguing him before getting ready for bed.
After counting out the cash, he carefully stacked it in his bedside table next to his scapular and phone.
He seriously thought about smashing the phone. He could stick it in the oven or throw it out the
window.
But he couldn’t do it. That damn electronic device was a stone around his neck, a terrible obligation
weighing his spirit down to the floor. He had to complete his mission. He had to find out the name of
Frankie’s Maker.
His boyfriend’s Maker.
Snod kneeled down beside the bed, clasping his hands together as he closed his eyes. He couldn’t
keep doing this. All of this sweet joy was a foul sin that he would have to pay for eventually, no
matter how much he wanted to keep it.
“O’Lord, my God. I am but your humble servant,” he prayed, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Please... guide me. I would like nothing more than to one day enjoy the splendor of Your kingdom
and sit by Your side, but I... I fear I am lost.
