“Good,” Jeremy said with a light sigh in his voice. “I’m so tired of having my picture taken.”

Sergio broke off a piece of his donut and popped it into his mouth. “Why’s that? Most everyone I’ve run into is begging me to take their photograph.”

After letting his gaze flick to Sergio’s lips, the glint returned to Jeremy’s eyes. “I’m sure that’s not all they want from you.”

Sergio, having not missed the clear signals of Jeremy’s interest, sat forward in his chair and shifted his legs so he could knock his knees against Jeremy’s once again underneath the table. “What do you mean?”

Jeremy pulled slightly back in his seat, though he didn’t remove the firm presence of his legs against Sergio’s. With his hand, he gestured at Sergio in an upward sweeping motion. “I mean, come on, look at you.”

“Look at me, what?” Sergio teased and sat back in his own chair, not to pull away, but to get another eyeful of Jeremy.Hewassomething to look at. Those deep brown eyes under that light, caramel colored hair. His full lips and his long neck led down to a slender, yet muscular frame. A frame that Sergio could partially feel against his knees. Jeremy’s legs were solid, strong, and sturdy. And Sergio wanted nothing more than to run his hand roughly over the firmness of Jeremy’s thighs.

Jeremy smiled and shook his head. “Don’t make me say it.”

Sergio grinned like the devil. “Oh, I’m definitely going to make you say it.”

Jeremy’s cheeks blushed, and Sergio, in a rare display of restraint, didn’t reach to brush his fingertips over Jeremy’s creamy skin.

“Good-looking guy like you,” Jeremy finally said, with a tip of his chin. “I’d expect you to be beating them off.” He paused as a small smile crept across his lips, then looked at Sergio more directly and winked. “Pun intended.”

“Cheeky, aren’t you?”

“Oh, you have no idea.” Jeremy took another bite of his cookie.

“What about you?”

“What about me?”

“Oh, come on. You can’t be in any short supply of men asking you for a date.”

Jeremy shrugged. “My life doesn’t really leave a lot of room for dating.”

“Is that something you would like?”

“Doesn’t everybody?”

Sergio brought his cappuccino to his lips and took a long, contemplative sip. Like Jeremy assumed, he’d never struggled with finding a date. And maybe because of that fact they’d never been important to him. It’s hard to long for something one never misses. “I guess I’ve never thought about it.”

“Never?”

“Not really.”

“Hmm …” Jeremy hummed and took a sip of his coffee. “I guess I’m a bit of a romantic then.”

“What, like you’re waiting for someone to come and sweep you off your feet?” For some reason, as he waited for Jeremy’s answer, Sergio’s heart beat a little faster.

Jeremy laughed and tugged at his left eye again. “Yeah, I don’t think that would be so bad.”

For whatever reason. Call it fate. Call it an alignment of the stars. Call it Sergio Durand meeting someone who, for once in his adult life, didn’t appear to want anything from him they couldn’t provide for themselves, Sergio felt his heart try to peek out from its place of hiding.

“Any chance I can interest you in dinner tonight?”

Tugging at his eye once more, Jeremy said, “Yeah, on one condition, though.”

“What’s that?”

“You leave the camera in your room. They make me nervous.”

“I can do that,” Sergio promised and broke another chunk off of his donut before he popped it into his mouth.
