And it sucks.
The door creaks open, pulling me from my thoughts, and Jensen pops his head in. “Hey, babe, dinner’s ready.”
We always take turns with dinner at the Berkshires. Tonight’s Amber and Jeff’s night, so I took the last hour for myself to soak in the tub, read, and let my mind wander.
I take a moment to drink him in—disheveled hair, T-shirt, joggers. He’s so effortlessly hot without even trying. “Alright. I’ll be right there. Give me five.”
My gaze flicks down to my Kindle.Dammit.I didn’t get to read the next chapter, and I’ve been dying for this couple to finally have sex.
I set it down and pull the drain, standing as water drips from my body. Jensen doesn’t move. He just stands there, gawking, a smirk tugging at his lips, brow arched, lust burning in his eyes as they roam over me.
“Wanna fuck real quick?”
I’m tempted to say yes—that smirk, those eyes.God, those eyes. Heat spreads through me. It would be so easy to give in, to forget dinner, Amber and Jeff, and everyone else waiting outside this bathroom. But I shake my head, forcing a laugh. “Yes. But I’m hungry, and we don’t have time.”
Wrapping the towel around my chest, I step out of the tub, only to have Jensen meet me halfway with a kiss that could melt ice. His hands slip inside the towel, fingers skimming along my waist.
“You sure?” he murmurs against my lips, fingertips grazing my ass. “We could be fast.”
Goddamn him.“Yes, I’m sure. It’s rude to keep them waiting.” I press a kiss to his lips and step back, dropping my towel and grabbing my clean clothes from the floor.
His gaze burns into me as I step into my underwear. “Save it, babe. It’s not happening right now. We can do it after dinner.”
He groans, then says, “Hey.” I glance up. “What if we were on a first date and I did this?”
Before I can answer, he pushes his joggers down past his ass, pops his dick out, and laughs.
Yes, sometimes he’s basically a teenage boy.
I can’t help it. A laugh bursts out of me as I pull my shirt over my head. “Why would you whip your dick out on a first date like that?”
“So that you’d wanna have sex with me. Obviously.” He chuckles, then glances down at his now raging hard cock and grins. “But seriously… would you be horny once you saw Clark?”
I shake my head, laughing as I step forward. I wrap my fingers around his length, and give him a slow, smooth stroke. “Oh, yeah,” I say seductively. “If you did that on a first date, all morals would go out the window. I wouldn’t even care if I liked you. You show me Clark?” I let out a soft, deliberate exhale. “I’d be gone. Naked in five seconds.”
He just chuckles. “I knew it.”
I love a lot of things about Jensen, but the way he can always joke and make me laugh will always be one of my favorites. We lost so many of these moments after we got married—the light ones. I didn’t even realize how much I missed them until now.
He leans in, presses a quick peck to my lips, and shoves himself back into his joggers, trying to hide his hard-on as best he can. Then he takes my hand and leads me to the kitchen.
The phone is pressedto my ear as Dad rambles about seeing me next week.
“Alright, I will. Thanks, Dad.” I smile at Jensen as he walks into the bedroom.
“I’ll see you next week then. Love you, Alley girl.”
“Love you too. Bye.”
“Bye.”
I end the call, watching Jensen rummage through his suitcase.
We just wrapped up another night of chaos with the Adams crew—his siblings drinking, cracking jokes, trading stories, and laughing until my sides hurt. As the night wound down, I said my goodnights and slipped away a little early to call Dad and invite him to dinner at Michael’s next week. I already talked to Jensen about it at dinner, and he wasn’t worried about making it work.
Jensen turns to face me, a manila envelope in his hand.
“Hey.” His voice is low, expression suddenly serious, brows pulling tight.
