But just as I was about to get up, she grabbed me by the shoulders and forced me to face her. “Please tell me you at least have something sexy for underneath whatever you plan to wear.”

I shrugged. “Honestly, I haven’t thought about any of it yet.”

Her eyes widened in horror as she slowly shook her head. “You’re not prepared at all. You’re going to have to call in sick tomorrow. We have so much to do and not nearly enough time to do it.”

Pushing her hand away, I rolled my eyes at her. “I’m not calling in sick. That would be insanity.”

“No, what’s insane is that you think you can go to Liam’s house tomorrow without being prepared. This is your first time with him! How can you be so blasé about it?”

I wasn’t. Deep down, I was trembling with giddiness, fear, excitement, and any other descriptive word I could think of. But if I let that rule me, I’d never be able to go over there tomorrow. So, I was playing it cool.

“Okay, let’s just think about this for a moment,” she said, jumping off the bed. She began pacing around the room in thought. “If we leave first thing tomorrow morning, we can get to the city in an hourand get some major shopping in, maybe a wax, and do something about that hair.”

“What’s wrong with my hair?”

“Then we can do a quick spa treatment. We won’t have time for much, but it’ll be better than nothing?—”

“Cheyenne!” I snapped, leaping in front of her and grabbing her arms. “Honestly, you’re insane! I’m not taking a day off work to go to the city. We have too much going on at the garage. Besides, Liam knows me. He would never expect me to do something like that.”

“No, but you have a much better chance of making this work if you take this seriously. This will be your first time with him!”

“That’s not a guarantee,” I argued, feeling the anxiety rise in me.

“It most definitely is! You want him. He wants you. Why would you even try to fight it?”

I wasn’t sure. But the longer she talked, the more the fear part about tomorrow kicked in. I was going to sleep with Liam. I knew it deep in my gut. After that kiss, there was no way I could go over there and not let his hands roam over every inch of my body.

It would be impossible.

“Oh God,” I whispered, sinking down on the bed.

“Finally! We’re getting somewhere!”

My gaze snapped up to meet Cheyenne’s. “This is what you want? Me, terrified?”

“No, but a little bit of reality would not go amiss.”

She was absolutely right. I couldn’t wear just anything over there. I needed to dress appropriately, and I most definitely didn’t have the correct undergarments for such an occasion. Nor did I have the time to take off and head into the city for a shopping spree.

“It’s okay,” I said, taking a deep breath. “I’ll head into the boutique at lunch time. Ellie can help me get everything I need.”

“She’s the biggest gossip in town!” Cheyenne exclaimed.

“But she’s also my only hope of making this go off without a hitch.” Taking a deep breath, I did the only thing I could. “I need to get some sleep. I can’t afford to have bags under my eyes tomorrow.”

“Right,” Cheyenne nodded succinctly. “I can meet you tomorrow.”

“Thank you.”

Sincerity bled through my words as I hugged her. She really was the best friend anyone could ask for. If it wasn’t for her, I’d probably show up tomorrow at Liam’s with a full bush and unrealistic expectations of the night.

“Any time. You know I’m always here to smack you back into reality.”

Chuckling, I started getting ready for bed as she quickly exited, leaving me to stew in the excitement for tomorrow on my own. I went through my bedtime routine, dragging the five-minute process out into fifteen just so I could calm my nerves, but it didn’t work.

I was well and truly screwed. There was no way I was getting a lick of sleep tonight. Not when I could still feel Liam’s touch on my skin and his kisses dragging out the most indecent thoughts I’d had in ages.

It was really going to happen. I was with Liam, and all my dreams were about to come true.
