She waved him off and walked away. Managing to convey with her look both ‘I was joking,’ and ‘you do you.’

″I need to get back to work.” said Sam weakly.

After work, Sam let Tally shower first before quickly hopping in himself. Then he quickly redid Tally’s bandages, impressed at how quickly he could now do them.

″How do you feel?” he asked. In between all the drama Tally had caused on just one shift, Sam had noticed that the young man didn’t seem to be suffering from any withdrawal symptoms. Surely the herb tea couldn’t work that well? And if it did, Tally needed to sell his remedy and become a millionaire.

″Great!” beamed Tally, jumping into bed in just his boxers.

Sam smiled and climbed in as well, also just wearing his underwear. Tally snuggled up close and the feel of his naked chest pressed up against his own was electric. Sam was trying to untangle his thoughts when suddenly Tally kissed him.

His lips were soft and tasted of fire and passion. Sam moaned, feeling himself dissolve into the kiss. His hands drifted down to cup Tally’s firm ass and his own cock swelled. His desire had exploded from zero to one hundred in nanoseconds, all from the first brush of Tally’s lips against his own.

Gathering every bit of willpower he had, he pulled away. “Tally, Stop!” He gasped as he snatched his hands back from Tally’s ass.

Blue eyes stared at him in confusion. “Why? I feel fine now?”

Sam groaned, he had never felt more aroused in all of his life. He was a terrible person.

″I’m not having sex with you.” he said firmly, more to himself than Tally.

Tally’s face fell and he looked devastated. “Is it because of earlier? I’m sorry, I’ll do better, I promise!”

His hurt look ached Sam’s heart. Sam quickly shook his head, “It’s not that. I’m not going to take advantage of you.”

The young man stared at him intently for a moment. ″But I want you to! I haven’t had sex for two thousand years, I’m bursting!” implored Tally, his eyes wide and pleading.

Sam couldn’t stop his chuckle. It was an amusing idea. “Don’t they have sex in hell?”

Tally made a dismissive gesture. “Of course, lots. But I only want you.”

″You waited for me for thousands of years?” asked Sam, again falling into the trap of Tally’s delusion. But the idea was so very romantic he was powerless before it. He had to fight a ridiculous sense of guilt for not having done the same.

Tally nodded solemnly.

Sam sighed, it would be so easy to give in. Fall into Tally’s arms for a night of passion. The young man was certainly alluring. Infuriating yet delightful. Something about Tally drew Sam in, like a moth to a flame. The young man’s eyes, the way he moved. Even the way he smelled. It all seemed to weave a helpless knot in Sam’s mind until he wasn’t sure if he knew up from down.

Sam had no doubt that the sex would be amazing. Tally would be ecstatic to have him, believing him to be his soul mate. Sam’s imagination was far too eager to provide images of what it would be like. Sam just somehow knew in his bones that Tally would make delightful little noises when lost in passion.

″I’m not sleeping with you.” Sam said again, clinging to his words like a mantra. He wasn’t a terrible person, he had will power.

He watched Tally’s gaze desperately search his face. He watched as Tally slowly acknowledged he was resolute. Then his beautiful eyes filled with pain and loss. Tears brimmed and Sam was about to say something, anything, when with one last hurt, wounded look, the young man turned around and wriggled to the far end of the bed.

Sam stared at his back for a long moment, trying to decipher all his own thoughts and feelings. He was a tangled mess. Part of him wanted Tally so very much. Another part of him was determined to do the right thing. All of him was devastated at seeing Tally upset. Sighing, he gave up trying to make sense of it and tried to sleep instead.

Chapter 9

Heawokeinthemorning in another delightful tangle with Tally. Their bodies forgetting their disagreement in the night. Sam inhaled a deep breath of Tally’s delicious scent. It was like breathing in contentment and satisfaction. In this moment, it felt like he needed nothing else to be happy. Tally in his arms was the only thing he wanted. He had never felt more at peace. It was like Tally was his missing puzzle piece and now finally, he was complete.

As lovely as the feeling was, Sam was puzzled by it. He couldn’t understand where it had come from or how it had grown, and he had no clue what to do about it.

He pondered it for a moment before realizing that his morning wood was pressing against Tally’s stomach. He saw the moment the young man felt it. His eyes flew open, and he gave Sam a huge, excited grin.

Reluctantly, Sam shook his head. “Just morning glory, I haven’t changed my mind.” he winced as the light in Tally’s eyes faded. The young man scowled and got out of bed, stomping to the shower.

Sam sighed and rolled onto his back. He’d never had anyone sulk at him for not sleeping with them before. He could already tell it was going to be exhausting. Danny’s strops had been bad enough, but at least with those he could always give in and end it.

After washing and dressing, Sam tackled cleaning up the kitchen from Tally’s cooking disaster the day before. Then he made scrambled eggs and toast for them both.
