Aiden’s jawwas practically on the floor.
“Threetimes!?” he repeated. “Youslappedhim three times!”
I nodded, trying not to laugh since I’d just taken a sip of coffee.
Aiden and I had been too busy doingother thingslast night and we hadn’t had a chance to talk about what went down with Wyatt. This morning, we were both back early from the gym, not even questioning the suspicious breakfast that’d been laid out for us.
Rafe had clearly been here.
I was beginning to think he was secretly living here, moving around while we were gone. I kept finding his t-shirts around the penthouse even though I hadn’t seen him at all. I’d initially thought he was only showing up to watch me sleep for a bit, but now I wasn’t so sure. I kept making mental notes to explore the other bedrooms in the dorm, but I hadn’t had time. Aiden’s dick distracted me every evening when I got back.
“Who knew Wyatt had a pain kink,” Aiden said, shaking his head as he dug into his eggs.
I let out a painful snort around a sip of coffee, then choked out a laugh. “Aiden!”
“What?” he asked, his voice muffled from his food. “Hesowants to be slapped around.”
I laughed again, shaking my head.
If on the day I met Wyatt someone would’ve told me I’d be slapping him someday and he’d like it, I’d never have believed them.
But he definitely liked it.
He was pissed, absolutely, but I hadn’t misread the energy in that room. He was into it.
My cheeks heated while Aiden laughed at me. I cleared my throat, deciding to change the topic.
“So, Zephyr’s birthday is coming up.”
“Oh?” Aiden continued shoveling food into his mouth.
It was a good thing we didn’t have to pay for our food in this new dorm. We’d be broke. The man ate enough for three people.
“We’re invited, as you know. And he wants Willow and Mia there.”
Aiden nodded along, his warm eyes narrowing at me like he was trying to figure out what I was holding back on.
I sighed deeply.
“I think I want to invite Wyatt,” I blurted out.
It was Aiden’s turn to choke. “Are you serious? Zephyr hates him!”
“He doesn’thatehim…” Aiden gave me a dry look. “Okay, so he hates him. But we just had this really good conversation, and he’s one of my Links, and–”
“And you want Zephyr to hurt him? Because that will happen the second he says something wrong, Skye. Alcohol or not.” Aiden said with a shake of the head.
I groaned. “I have to extend an olive branch somewhere. I think this could be a good idea.”
Aiden chewed slowly, then sighed. “You’re right. This might be good, but I don’t know. It’s on Zephyr’s turf, and if Willow and Mia go, it could create more problems.”
I groaned.
“But,” Aiden held up a hand. “Maybe between me and Rafe, we can keep him from making shit worse with Zeph.”
I smiled before making my way around the kitchen island. Aiden turned in his seat, spreading his legs so I could slip between them. Ithrew my arms around his neck and squeezed him in a hug, and he sighed as he hugged me back, teasing his fingers around my waist.
“I love you, Aiden. Thank you.”
