“We just found out! Thank you so much!” Willow babbled, holding onto me even as I tried to pry her arms from around me.

“What are you talking about?” Just as I pulled her arm away from me, her other arm snaked around my waist, tightening her hold on me.

“The new room!” Willow cried. “Don’t play dumb! You got me and Mia a new room!”

“Uh…” My eyes found Mia, who realized I didn’t know what the fuck was going on.

“You didn’t get us the new room?” Mia asked, tilting her head in confusion.

I shook my head. “I only went in and got myself moved so I could share with Aiden. I thought they’d leave Willow by herself and then you could just unofficially move in.”

“Sure,” Willow said, not believing me at all. “Whatever, Skye. I see you, throwing that Royal power around already.”

I laughed in disbelief.

“I guess it doesn’t really matter who did it,” Mia said with a shrug. “As long as we’re all where we want to be.”

“Please tell me you’re only down the hall from us,” Willow said, her eyes on my folder of information.

“I think we’re on the top floor,” I said, trying to remember the paperwork I’d looked at.

“Oh, my God. Of course you’re in the penthouse.” Willow rolled her eyes but finally let go of me. “Skye, it’s admirable that you’re using your new Royal powers for good instead of evil, but we totally have to use them for something evil.”

I snorted, pulling away from her completely. “What evil deeds did you have in mind?”

“Changing grades? Messing with some bitches? Oh!” She jumped up and down excitedly, then rubbed her hands together maniacally. “Let’s trash Wyatt’s office.”

My stomach dropped just from hearing his name. I cleared my throat, then feigned like I was stretching as I turned to look over my shoulder.

The campus was filling with more students, friends and couples having reunions all over the spotless quad. You’d have no idea there’d been dead people here a few weeks ago.

My heart clenched as I noticed the large copse of trees Landon had burned hadn’t grown back. Those trees had been so old, there probably wasn’t an earth affinate capable of recreating them.

“I can’t believe they’re just going to act like nothing happened,” I said quietly.

“They’re probably not,” Mia said. “We have an assembly in the afternoon.”

I nodded, noticing Carla and Anton standing together, having quite an animated conversation. Carla was talking with her hands while Anton shook his head furiously.

“We should’ve let her get taken,” Willow muttered, following my gaze.

“Come on, Will.” Mia snorted. “We did the right thing.”

“Yeah. It’s not her fault Aiden was a dumbass,” I said. “She said some mean shit to me but that doesn’t mean she should get kidnapped.”

“You guys are no fun,” Willow said with a pout. “Anyway, thank you again for the room, Skye.”

I laughed. “I swear, Willow, it wasn’t me.”

Willow scrunched up her nose. “So, who? Couldn’t be Wyatt. And I’m pretty sure Rafe wishes I didn’t exist.”

I chuckled. “Come on, that’s not true. Rafe is just…”

“A pompous ass?” Mia offered.

“Prickly,” I corrected.

Willow rolled her eyes. “I know that. Don’t you think I used to wish this were an older-brother-has-hot-Prince-friend-who-falls-in-love-with-me scenario? Instead I got the older-brother-has-hot-Prince-friend-who-hates-me. Seriously, Rafe has always been kind of a dick. I can’t believe Wyatt is the bigger dick right now. Those two wonder how they’re friends but they’re practically the same person in slightly different clothing.”
