He grunts, but there’s no doubt about the way he’ll answer. Franco’s a good guy. He can’t say no to anyone, especially a family friend in need. “Give me a minute to get dressed, and I’ll take a look.”

“I have to go,” I tell him, because I don’t want to get on the road late, and I’d rather not be stuck in any type of rush-hour traffic. “Mom’s waiting.”

Franco presses his hand deeper against my waist. “You sure you can’t stay a little longer?” he whispers in my ear. “I’ll make it worth your while.”

I want to stay and keep an eye on Olivia. I don’t trust her, but I trust Franco and the connection we have…the history we’ve made in such a short amount of time. “I can’t, honey. I’m sorry.”

“Honey,” he murmurs. “I like that.”

“Can you move your car to the other side while I grab a shirt, Liv? Chloe needs to head out.”

“Mom’s house. Sounds like a fun afternoon,” she says, fishing for details.

“It will be,” I tell her, but I’m lying. I want to have high hopes for the time my mother and I are about to spend together, but I’ve learned those dreams are often quickly squashed, especially when she’s involved.

“Maybe I’ll see you around sometime,” she says as she takes a step back.

“She owns the bookstore next to the Gracie’s,” Franco tells her.

“Latterature?”

I nod. “That’s me.”

“Aww. You’re related to Ms. Ann?”

I nod again. “She was my aunt.”

For the first time, Olivia’s face isn’t filled with mischief. “I liked her. She was a nice lady. I spent a lot of afternoons after school in there.”

I smile at her kind words. “Well, stop in again sometime,” I tell her and want to kick myself for uttering those words.

“I may do that.” She waves as she hustles back to her car.

“You okay?” Franco asks as I turn around, still caged by his arms and body.

“Fine.” I smile, but it’s not entirely real. I’m too nervous about heading home and agitated over Olivia’s arrival and the way she made my stomach twist.

“Liar,” he says with a chuckle.

“I have to go,” I remind him as he tries to grope my ass. “And people are watching.

He lifts his head and looks around. “I see no one except Liv.”

“That’s enough.” I push against him lightly, not angry or annoyed with him. “Save this for when I get back.”

“This won’t save.” He presses his cock against me, and it takes all my willpower not to cave.

“It’ll have to. I’m sure you’ll survive. It’s only a few days.”

He pouts as he releases me, looking like a sad creature who was just denied something he wanted for Christmas but got a knockoff instead.

“That’s like an eternity, baby.” He reaches for me, trying to suck me in again.

“Olivia’s waiting,” I remind him, and her name is sour on my tongue. “But remember—” I reach down and grab his stiff cock “—this is mine and not hers.”

His eyebrows rise. “I like this side of you.”

I give his dick a squeeze before releasing him. “Don’t you dare go outside without a shirt.”
