Picking him up, I carry him up the steps and to his room. A quick diaper change and not even five pages of a book, he’s sound asleep. I see Sloane already has the vaporizer running in his room, and it’s set high up on a shelf where he can’t reach it if he were to climb out of bed.

Every day, something new happens that reminds me how lucky we are to have her in our lives, and how nice it is to have a partner to share the burdens—not that my son is a burden, but the tasks of life. I guess that’s a better way to say it.

Back downstairs, I find Sloane in the kitchen scooping out two bowls of soup and placing them on the island.

“I heard you coming from the monitor,” she tells me.

“Come here.” It takes a few strides to reach her and pull her into my arms. “I missed you. Thank you for all that you’ve done today, and every day.”

“I thought we talked about this?” she asks.

“You said to stop. I never agreed,” I tell her, pulling back and placing my index finger beneath her chin and softly kissing her lips.

“Let’s eat before suave conversation skills have us abandoning dinner.”

“I could eat you instead,” I offer sweetly.

She laughs. “Later. You need real food after that game, and I know you showered and hauled home as fast as you could, so you have to be starving.”

“You could strip down and sit up here,” I tap the island next to my bowl of soup, “and I could enjoy both.” Her cheeks turn a gorgeous shade of pink.

“Eat your dinner, Daddy Sin.” She winks.

“Fuck,” I say, reaching down to adjust my cock. “I’m trying to finish dinner, gorgeous. Can you not turn me on like that?” I tease.

“Change of subject,” she says, chuckling. “Next week, you have a game in Ohio. You leave Saturday morning, right?”

“Yep. This is really good,” I tell her.

“Thank you. Okay, so trick-or-treating is Friday, so as long as Cam is better, that should be a go, right?”

“You know my schedule as well as I do,” I tell her. “If I don’t have something with the team, I’ll be wherever you want me to be.”

“Aww, that’s actually kind of sweet.”

“It’s also selfish. I can’t seem to get enough of you,” I tell her.

“Is this one of those ‘will you be my girlfriend? Check yes or no’ conversations?” she jokes.

“Nope. You’re mine already. No boxes need to be checked, because we’re nothing but yes in the Sinclair house.”

“Oh, Cam is going to love to hear that when he wakes up.”

“Let me amend that. Nothing but yes between us. I’ll never tell you no. It’s those damn eyes. They twinkle when you smile, and I’m toast.”

“Just my eyes?”

My body heats. I know what she’s asking, and so does she. “All of you,” I amend.

“I’m going to need you to eat so you can show me.”

“I’m full,” I say, pushing my half-eaten bowl away from me.

“No way, Sinclair. Eat and then we can go upstairs and have dessert.”

“Yes, ma’am.” Pulling the bowl back, I devour my soup and grab another bowl, because damn, it’s good, while she finishes her first. Together, we pack away the leftovers. Okay, she tries to pack away the leftovers, but I keep stealing kisses and touching her because she’s mine, and there will never be a time that I won’t want my hands on her.

“Ready for bed?”
